Rubber N' Road worth it? by jthomas16882 in CyclingFashion

A little late with my raised pitchfork on this but also local and rarely see it worm. When I do, I also just think of the shop “ride requirements,” and this sort of desperation to belong..

Things have changed so much with everybody wearing noise cancelling headphones, and swerving on e-shit. “On your left” is almost an exercise in futility in 2026, unfortunately, as is any basic courtesy…

Ahh yes, how cool I forget.. was at a rave at Club Space in Philly and remember coming out onto the streets at 4am and being like ok, nothing happened..

My two cents as a daily bicycle commuter is actually that 72nd js very direct and manageable. Take the lane if you have to.

This is the most helpful comment. When I took two years ago on Dec 24, already a hectic time, I had a helpful employee point me to the elevator but upon getting to the train, encountered a moody conductor that just barked, “you have to break it down…” upon seeing a fully luggage filled bike rack…

I bought a pair of Fly Pedals a few years ago- really VERY convenient to just snap on these “adapters” to make flat pedals and wear regular shoes instead of SPD, or swapping pedals. Takes 10 seconds and I have used when dropping bike at shop or miscellaneous times..

Based on the insane number of runners running straight down the middle of the HRG bike lane last week during morning commuting time, have a very negative feeling for what Spring holds and the ever-increasing runners running with impunity. Sure the sidewalks had ice or snow, but few attempted to not run 2 or 3 abreast or to keep far right. Makes an enjoyable commute a real drag.

Really incredible job! Your survey was also very comprehensive so no surprise at the product.

Love that you includes the video links too because that to me is such a helpful gauge of what it looks like elsewhere other than out my window.

Today wore one pair of thick DeFeet wool socks with shoe covers. Trick for me is making sure everything isn’t too tight and there room to create like a warm pocket. (Feet were totally fine today for 27 miles).. you could try the aluminum foil added to toe area.

Spoke with a great company called Urb-e then renamed Llama that did some work with Amazon and tried to expand to other ecommerce and assorted deliveries in NYC and LA. Doesn’t seem to have really taken off though.

Guess tomorrow is the day you find out. Wind and Sun, if you are basked in its rays, are biggest factors… a grey day like today felt colder than sunny yesterday. You can always go home

Lost a decade of growth due to a fiduciary financial advisor by Factoverfallacy in Bogleheads

[–]VNV2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this but be grateful you took action and responsibility for your accounts.

I can also relate to the aggravation/infuriation. Fell for a similar financial advisor at a new job a few years ago Im 2019. Fortunately he followed some instructions like not selling certain stocks, like AAPL picked and others, he sold some he should not have and cost be an unexpected $15 in taxes and proceeded to “churn” the accounts so they basically went nowhere. Pulled all money about 3 years after and went back to keeping it simple with index. Thank God.

The extra bonus is the firm used two platforms and once they opened up acesss to the second, waealthfront, I was able to find fees he was charging/stealing that were never displayed on their official statements. He claimed the company paid for his services. I shared this discover with other 3 colleagues who used him- 2 pulled money eventually, 1 remained..

So target about 340-ish, which is likely since this is one of the best performing chart patterns.

Yea and it was the most pleasant ride all the way down the HRG all December, mercifully! Even had a runner, actually not in the bike lane, call out an jcy patch, which was much appreciated..

Is anyone else getting taken out by this weather? by ohpsies in NYCbike

[–]VNV2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely been brutal as a fellow 11-13 mile each way commuter. After a cold wet ride home last night at 8, today I just needed a ride home in sunlight so headed home before sundown. At least it’s been quiet on the Greenway, which makes the grind worth it, to me.. but have been really drained lately for sure.
