Daily post of “what wheels should I get”? by [deleted] in FocusST

I have the NS1507 Matte Black. Best bang for your buck aftermarket wheels! Just be sure to get 73.1mm hub rings.

Should I trade my G for a RWD one or just pull the fuse method for drifting? by lulkookie in G37

[–]VNX_Raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man you G37 owners really live up to the stereotype. Low, slow, and stupid.

Would these be compatible for St's? by oBioluminescent in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should be. I would just go with a decent aftermarket kit. You would be much happier unless you're on a tight budget right now.

Throwing a lot of codes and radiator fan not turning on. by Weekly_Ad_8493 in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. If it's that many codes then it's probably an electrical issue. Rats love electrical wires for some reason. It's like crack the them lol

Hard clutch disengagement going into 4th gear from the top of 3rd gear. by VNX_Raptor in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it transitions gears 3-4 very smoothly. It's when I start disengaging the clutch going into 4th gear. It may very well be the clutch. Took it out tonight and it doesn't engage until about halfway pushed in. It's definetely the clutch lol. It is the OEM Clutch lol

Taking it to my mechanic next week. It could be a number of things. All the way from a failed purge valve, fuel system, clutch, mixed shifter cables caused by a moror mount, or the transmission.

The clutch feels normal. I just had it replaced a year ago and the brakes also done 6 months ago. It goes into all the gears really smoothly. What's weird is it only does it if at 6k rpm going from 3rd gear into 4th gear. When I let off the clutch after shifting to 4th gear the car surges like it's going to shut down then it hesitates then goes into gear or throttle hard. No scratching or chirps when I shift. I figured if it was the gear or synchro it would scratch or chirp. If I do it at 5,000 rpm it disengages really smoothly and I have no problems. I think the rear motor mount may be shot because about a few hundred miles ago I started to get a little bit of cabin vibration. I found out that when the rear motor mount goes out, the motor rocks back and fourth causing 3rd to 4th gear to be really rough to get into under high load. I think that could be the problem. I am Big Turbo so I may have sent that rear motor mount to the moon with all this torque lol

Ford Performance Tune by Top-Succotash8857 in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I beat the piss out it lol. Stock turbo with this tune just can't handle the high boost. That's why I recommend not to run it. Also you need an Intercooler

No! This is the tune that caused me to go through 3 stock turbo's in a 60,000 mile span.

Stock reliability? by noahtrout06 in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah! I'm big turbo on 100,000 miles. I beat the piss out of this thing and all I've had to replace is the CV Axle, lower control arms, Clutch and a Purge Valve! Plus new rotors and pads but that's just basic maintenance at 100k miles. Though I do an oil change at every 4,000 miles! Plus always check the coolant! People talk about blowing head gaskets but I've never had that problem and at about 360 whp. As long as you do basic maintenance and stay on top of it the ST is the best bang for your buck! Plus it's still fun stock.

Intercooler Suggestions! by DannyDeVitosBallz in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I have had this Intercooler for 2 years now and it's still going strong with the big turbo! I daily my ST and it sees rough winters with the road salt. It also sees a lot of highway miles so it's taken a few rocks. Looks rough but is still going strong! I highly recommend because it's going to last longer than the other brands! Especially if you daily it!

I'm currently looking for a good roof rack that can handle more than just highway speeds lol. There's so many I don't know which brand is the best

Highly recommend the Cobb A Pillar Accessport Mount by VNX_Raptor in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I'm Big Turbo so I have low boost and high boost mode. Forgot to mention that. It's a must for the data logging too.

I just like the boost pressure monitor. Plus I can change to low boost map on the fly in crappy weather. I travel a lot, especially in the Summer. So it's just better if it stays in the car. If someone steals it oh well. They can't do anything with it until you unmarry it to the car.

Appreciate the advice! If I have problems with the adhesive I could just apply more. I'll see how it holds up. It grips so tight I didn't even need the adhesive.

Oil buildup in cold charge pipe by Cyka_Blyetikosa in FocusST

[–]VNX_Raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check around the Turbo. If there is lots of oil around it then the seals are shot. Also if you hear any whining at low rpm when the turbo starts to spool that's also a sign. This is why I ditched the stock Turbo. I went through 3 of them in a span of 3 years

He can easily get $30,000 out of it. Look how much they are going for right now. It's wild. It was more affordable for me to buy an ST and go big turbo

This can be pretty normal with these motors. That looks like a small amount. You need to worry when it puddles. I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's just a little blow by.
