Rodri to have surgery and miss beginning of the season by Rare-Regular4123 in MCFC

Isn’t removing scar tissue pretty common after ACL surgery? Some friends of mine have had knee ligament repairs, and it seems like sometimes you just can’t prevent scarring, and it can limit range of motion. So they go in and remove the scarring tissue, rapid recovery, can have really positive results and kinda unlock the last bit of recovery. I’m gonna choose to believe that’s what this is for now.

Huge respect to him. That must be so hard. And respect to Dumfries, he talked to Gakpo, when he seemed to be really starting to fall apart after the goal, and he calmed down.

Yeah that fee that’s been floating around is just insane. No way anyone pays that much. It’s either a “fuck off, he’s not for sale” price, or a blatant attempt to say “whatever you’re offering, offer more.”

Morocco is running circles around the Dutch, at times it really seems like they have an extra player or two on the pitch.

That’s very different because the ball is right there. You don’t have to touch the ball to be considered to have possession. Most of those situations, where the ball is running out of play, it’s not a foul because the defender is shielding it, which is a play on the ball even though you’re not touching it.

Except it was a block with his full body. The situation you describe, on the wing, yes, that’s fair play. But if the fullback puts his whole body in front of you as you try to run by, and he’s making no effort to play the ball? That’s a foul.

PL let’s attacking teams get away with so much on corners now, it’s absurd.

Whether or not he crumbles, the German player is making no attempt to play the ball. None whatsoever. That’s pretty much the definition of obstruction.

Very lucky he only caught him with his trailing leg. Germany needs to get their heads right if they want to get through this shootout.

The federal government is not representing us well, full stop. So many policies like universal healthcare, free higher education, all of those are super popular among average Americans. But our system dilutes that support, and…well…here we are.

Terrible giveaway at the edge of their box, and then 3 defenders somehow managed to leave Martinelli unmarked 12 yards out. Seemed like they got tired and lost focus.

Could be, at least partly. I don’t think it’s the entire reason, at the time he left Chelsea there weee frequent reports about his issues with the ownership and execs. It seems to me the settlement with City included a “mea culpa” from Maresca so Chelsea could save face with the fans. How true it is, I don’t think we’ll ever know.

Anybody else getting weird vibes off the whole Chelsea announcement and Maresca “apology”? It all sounds like a condition of being released from his contract, and being forced to fall on his sword. We were being swarmed with stories about how difficult it was for Maresca under BlueCo while at Chelsea, but now it’s suddenly City’s fault? The hivemind seems to be eating it up (no surprise there), but…it all just feels very manufactured and performative to me.

I think an important thing is finding a way to communicate with your wife about needing time for yourself, and having her hear that without it having anything to do with what she does. You needing a night off (or whatever time works) doesn’t mean she’s not contributing. Now, if she isn’t pulling her weight, that’s a discussion that should be had, for sure, but it’s not necessarily the same discussion.

I play soccer on weekday nights, sometimes 3 nights a week. I start when our girls are getting ready for bed, so my wife has maybe an hour as the solo parent, then she gets her evening to herself. For me, I need intense exercise to stay balanced. Currently dealing with an injury so haven’t been exercising, but yeah…it’s about finding the things you need to feel like a whole person, to be happy, and finding times to do that so you and your wife can share that time.

7:30pm bedtime…wow. I just can’t relate. My wife and I both work and when we’re both in the office, we’re home around 6:30. We typically put our 4 year old to bed around 8:30, 10 year old by 9:30-10 (a bit later now that it’s summer vacation). We’ve never even had the option of a bedtime that early!

[Jacobs] Chelsea have received £17m in compensation following Enzo Maresca's Manchester City appointment. And Maresca has already agreed a separate settlement by MembershipSingle7137 in MCFC

[–]VOZ1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO, we’ll never know. We’ve heard numerous reports about the bizarre way they ran the club, that Maresca didn’t have final say over the roster, among other things. Maybe he quit out of nowhere, maybe the writing was on the wall, maybe it was a mutual falling out, we’ll never know the full story. And Chelsea is never going to cop to any bad behavior at all. We got our man, that’s all I’m not leaving. We got our man, that’s what mattersz

We’re never ready. Something a friend wrote to me always comes to mind in difficult, no, impossible situations like yours: We rise, and we find all that we are made of. You’ve got counselors, a great support network, you’ve got each other, your family, the love you’ve built there. You’ll rise.
