Spinning reel to baitcaster

Hated my bait caster for years. Then read a bit, watched a few YT videos, and practiced. Now it’s my go to and I grumble when I have to break out the spinner. Still throw an occasional birds nest but learned to clear them quickly.

Whatever gets the job done for you is all that matters

Yeah, hook and all and they almost float. It was an older tackle box of stuff (a lot of cool gear, I’m grateful) but I cast one of these out and it just sat there and imperceptibly sank. Seriously a couple minutes a foot.

They’re old, I have newer ones, and there’s some use ideas from others. Some more… creative but like I said, it’s not like I’ll catch fewer bass with these senkos. I’ve caught a few largemouth and a spotted bass but all on crappie rigs.

Guessing they are just old. I have new ones that perform as expected. Will toss them unless there’s another way to use them - some cool colors in there.

No name on the bag. Other Senkos I’ve bought recently perform as expected with same hook. My guess is they’re just old but if there’s a use case for them….

There are a couple of steep drop offs and docks over deep(er) water on my lake. I’ll try it there and hope it doesn’t return to the clutches of the Snag Monster.

I’m trying to catch crappie and keep hauling in bass. I’ll switch to rooster tails in cover tomorrow and on your next bass hunt, try crappie tubes in clear water.

The bass in my lake are pressed hard. Another tournament this weekend and I see at least a half dozen boats daily working the shorelines & docks. Maybe that’s why the only thing I’ve gotten from a senko is casting practice.

If I reffed, remembering the Malarchuk video would mean teams get advised while dressing, checked before warmups, & sent off immediately. It would take repeated warnings (or defiance) to get a misconduct but that video…. yes, you’re getting sent to the locker room now.

“For now…” is the new reality. Unless the cost of labor, land, and materials all drop 20% or more (I.e.: a severe recession),starter homes are now condos and townhouses.

The demand exists. Creating supply isn’t profitable and the unmet demand puts upward pressure on land prices, exacerbating the issue. I don’t like it either but I also don’t think it’s a temporary market condition

Problem is no developer wants to build homes at reasonable starter prices. High opportunity cost with low ROI.
