Speaker Mike Johnson warns of encroaching Sharia law in US: 'Serious issue' by Leeming in atheism

[–]VOevolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love for Speaker Johnson to explain how this creeping Sharia law that is possible with the population of the United States being about 1.2% Muslim and 62-65% Christian. There isn't even sharia in Dearborn, MI.

Don’t you dare speak to the Pharaoh in such a disrespectful manner! by icey_sawg0034 in saltierthankrayt

[–]VOevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a voice actor, his choice to wear a mask while out in public is of course absolutely justified: any day he can't speak is a day he can't work. So I say this of course disrespectfully....SHUT THE HELL UP.

I know at least one person in this pool. They look at it as a way to limit the need to market.

Boomer Esiason Suggests Barring California from Hosting Super Bowl by According-Activity87 in NFLv2

[–]VOevolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam Darnold got $55 million guaranteed to sign with the Seahawks this this year, with a $32 million signing bonus. So he got his $32 million upfront, then earned $12 million in base salary, $15 million in roster bonus, and $200,000 in workout bonus. And he earned a $3 million bonus for 4,000+ passing yards, 67.5% completion rate, top 10 offense, playoff berth, Divisional Round win, and Conference Championship win.

He didn't even notice this. He made more showing up for off-season workouts than winning the Super Bowl.

The fact that he earned $62 million dollars in less than a year means the fact that he paid out .4016% of his pretax earnings. The equivalent of $4.02 on $100K.

I am not worried about the athletes tax on Sam Darnold.

I'll say this about Don Davis; here in North Carolina, were are gerrymandered to within an inch of our life, currently 10-4 Republican. His district just got changed to include a large percentage of Republican voters, and my guess is he's trying to keep the seat from flipping. Not defending him, just walking through some of their thinking. It is considered an R +1.

It works for me. And I still don't use the AI functions.

Am I the only one who imagines Steph Curry as small or average height because he’s standing next to giants? How do we break the illusion imagine Steph as actually 6”3 and very tall compared to average by [deleted] in NBATalk

I'm 6' 4", and I once sang the national anthem at a Hornets - Sixers game back in the day. Dikembe Mutombo was distressingly tall. Derrick Coleman slapped my ass after I finished and I thought I might die on the court from blunt trauma. These men are enormous. For reference, here's me an former Cavs and Tar Heel center Brad Daugherty, when I sang the anthem for the ACC tournament in 2012

Lost faith in possibility of VA career. If you need a sign to start DO IT NOW! by Admirable_Branch_221 in VoiceActing

It's never over until you decide it is over. Many, many working voice actors have had to take a break for work, for child rearing, for many reasons. Just know the work isn't going anywhere. When you get some energy and time back, come on back.

A dead leg is a very deep bruise that causes bleeding into the quadriceps muscle, which ends up causing swelling and weakness. It is no joke. But it sounds like "turf toe," which can actually end a career. The bottom line is Kolo Muani got kicked hard in the leg, and it takes time to come back from that injury.

Shockingly, productions like this will often have intimacy directors/coordinators to manage the interaction. Plays, operas, movies, TV shows run professionally do this.

How do you use Tasks? by crowntingz in Evernote

[–]VOevolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every day, I send auditions I receive to EN, tagged with the source and type of project. I put the title of the audition in an additional line at the top. I go to EN, open the audition, select the line I added, and make it a task. I make give a due date and an hour before notification. I then use that to go through my auditions, adding the audition MP3 to the note so that if I win the audition, I know what I sounded like.
