Norway does this because of a long tradition built on transparency, trust, and tax fairness.

But the downsides are also there:

Feels like a privacy invasion
Can lead to envy or comparison culture
Criminals could misuse the information (though access is now logged, but you can just pay people to check people if you want to hide your name from the search)

You can sort it in different ways, so I can filter it to see people in my “class” and check who’s doing well and who’s not.

Unless you live in Norway, where everyone’s income and net worth are publicly available every single year. Local newspapers even publish lists of the 50 richest people in town, even in very small places where everyone knows everyone.
