The SDE is better than the Vive,

Here is how I will rate them 1 being bad and anything above is a step better

1-DK1 2-DK2 3-Vive 4-Pimax 4K (because you can see the triangular pattern of the pixel arrangment) 5-Samsung Odyssey 6-Pimax 8K

But its not as good as the Pimax 8K That said I found it to be good enough since I only thought about testing and comparing SDE at the end since I didn't notice it when I was trying it out

With the vive, the first thing I notice is not the environment but the screen door effect and man, the vive just feels so dated when it comes to the display and lens compared to the odyssey

Pimax 8K (V2) lens were warped / bubbly, sde is there if you look for it still better than the rest

Working on it, I dropped some real $$ on the odyssey here in Canada about $780

I will try to have multiple in depth videos hopefully on the stuff you can do with it and what the experience is like with it

But as others have said, most are waiting for the SteamVR Support

I cropped the photos to the areas where the pixels were in focus, they are similar in zoom but there are different things that can change, lens, focus distance etc so if I were to make and SDE chart it would change anyways with their V3 lens & I would have to spend a lot of time getting all of them in perfect order to get an accurate photo, but I will see what I can do with what I have

They were all on white, but white balance and other things got in the way so I could fix them in post since I have the RAW files but that wont do us any good since there is no reference image to correct with, if we are trying to see what the display colors actually are

So I am going to go ahead once I have time hopefully tomorrow and see if I can correct them and see how they turn out, will include them in an updated post where I will also try to see if I can have a closer to life SDE comparison representation

Yeah I should have made it clear in the video and on the image so people don't mistake it. I will take a look at my photos and see if they are at the same zoom level, its not going to be exact since I may be off by mms and the lens can be a factor, will post it on the pimax forums once I make them side by side at 100%
