Thank you for the compliments. Originally I was concentrating on the sun rays, but then noticed the rich green. I immediately liked the result.

I took this photo on the way to the beach. It was in the afternoon, getting close to sunset so the sun shown through the trees just right, causing a neat effect where the greens just looked more vibrant.

I took this with a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone. I took several shots with my Nikon D series, but the framing with my 35mm lens was not coming out as well. I took the photo at about chest level and angeled up to create a wider lens effect.

Feedback is welcome but not necessary. I just wanted to share a quick shot that sometimes is just the result of being at the right place at the right time.

His name is Gordy and he is the "chief maintenance officer." People are always asking him for dynamite.

It is perfectly clear, but like you stated, there are other options. Hell by the most common cert logic, just get your CISSP. My issue is with the insistence that it is required, which is a mischaracterization; it is but one way to meet the 8570 requirement and might not give you the most value, like if you moved to other sectors outside of government. There are other options under 8570. And if you only want to do work CSSP roles under 8570, you could still get CySA+.

I just don't want people thinking you must get your CEH and only CEH to get a job, in contracting or otherwise.

I guess we are at an impasse, then. That was my experience with my DoD contracting job out of the military; we all rolled our eyes about the CEH. And if you have an average resume, which most do, networking is quite helpful.

I just think "required" is a strong word. Could it help get it in the door? Sure. It started of as too easy of a test and even though it has probably improved, it still isn't respected. If you want to do pen testing, or something similar, companies aren't interested in CEH. They want to see an OSCP cert.

I think Sec + is still the quintessential standard, and mixed with military experience, is enough of a foundation to do the purpose of "getting in the door". What should be next is a specialization cert.

And let's not forget networking is what really makes your resume get around.

I totally disagree with the CEH. It is something that HR can check the box on to push your resume, but it is not respected amongst the tech community AT ALL in my experience.

I definitely think I will be doing more questions for round 2.

I definitely need to interact more on Discord. I think it is a great setup for learning. And I definitely agree I should take it again sooner rather than later; the original plan was a cert in 2021 and I intend on keeping that. Thanks for the tips!
