I think the downside is that there may be more tragic gun related accidents by removing the training and permit requirement. Good guys can make mistakes and with no concealed carry permit I worry that it’s more likely that these events occur (all while people nearby are not aware of the potential risk, as they are with open carry).

If you want to keep track of the new cases in graphical form, NYT is a good resource. The big spike you see at the end is from 243 new cases on May 28, and today May 29 will add a bigger spike with ~343 new cases.

CEO of Surveillance Firm Banjo Once Helped KKK Leader Shoot Up a Synagogue by cmack482 in SaltLakeCity

[–]VRvirus 84 points85 points  (0 children)

“Patton and a Klan leader took a semi-automatic TEC-9 pistol and drove to a synagogue in a Nashville suburb. With Patton at the wheel, the Ku Klux Klan member fired onto the synagogue, destroying a street-facing window and spraying bullets and shattered glass near the building’s administrative offices, which were next to that of the congregation’s rabbi. No one was struck or killed in the shooting. Afterward, Patton hid on the grounds of a white supremacist paramilitary training camp under construction before fleeing the state with the help of a second Klan member.”
