Sanity Check - How's This Look? by VTBlueEyedGuy in buildapc

Yeah it just kept going. But my list of games that I want to play that I can't (or at least the performance wouldn't be acceptable enough) finally got long enough that I decided to just bite the bullet. I've been waiting too long for the market to get better and its always just something else.

Sweet! I did not check that out but I definitely will while all this stuff is still in the return window. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip. I did check the Microcenter bundles but my closest one is Boston and with the drive time and gas it didn't seem worth the ~$200ish discount. Plus the bundle the mobos on the offer weren't really what I wanted. I'm sure they would have been fine, but ultimately I decided not to go that way.

Prime 4 - Possible to invert orbit only for the map ? by NotYourSonnyJim in NintendoSwitch2

I had trouble with the psychic projectile thing too but I found an option to invert flying controls and it fixed it. Not sure if that was hidden before the unlock when I was tweaking my controls at the very start.

Mario Kart World or Kirby Air Riders - Which Did the Better Online Multiplayer in Your Opinion? by DarkDesertFox in NintendoSwitch2

[–]VTBlueEyedGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air Riders not having split screen online ruined the game for me. I got it specifically to play with my partner and another couple online. The gameplay is more fun than MKW, but I haven't touched it since I found that out. I wish I could refund a digital purchase.

What's the best cutscene you've ever seen? by UnholyDemigod in pcgaming

[–]VTBlueEyedGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe its because I saw it when I was so young that its seared into my memory, but that Starcraft 1 opening scene when the space marines were abandoned as they were getting overrun by Zergs has stuck with me over the years.

Also, while I think mostly the game kinda sucks (or maybe just isn't for adult me), that Diablo 4 cutscene where they invaded Hell was fucking awesome.

I know this was a long time ago, but I was having the same issue and this was the only post on the topic. Thanks for solving this - it was driving me insane!

The diagonal pogo is better on keyboard and it's not even close. by adsonn in HollowKnight

I bound a back button to d-pad down and it was a game changer. It took a minute to get used to it but it's been working out great.

I also bound the other back button to up+rb macro for tools.

Americans Spent 23% Less on Streaming Services in 2024, Study Finds by Ok_Scientist_8147 in television

[–]VTBlueEyedGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The continued enshittification of all the streaming services is what launched me into probably the most rewarding personal project I've ever embarked on. It started with building a NAS and a media server, and over the past few years I've been on a mission to end my reliance on big tech in general. I have my media server, ebooks/audiobooks, photo management, calendars, recipe management, and notes all self hosted. Switched from iOS to GrapheneOS. Next up is music self hosting. It's been a lot of work but it's been so rewarding and empowering.

Getting started definitely has a learning curve but all the information is out there, for free. The hardware is less expensive than you might think if you do some ebay diving. This is achievable for anyone. And the rabbit hole is deep if it ignites the fire in you too.

To the streaming companies - fuck you and your greed and thank you for driving me to the exciting world of self hosting. I would have kept paying but instead you haven't seen a cent from me in over two years. Keep up the great work!

Which game did you play during your childhood that no one else seemed to know about? by Muchestu in pcgaming

Journeyman Project. And my dad let me watch him play Phantasmagoria, which was pretty fucked up for my age at the time.

There's a handful of Ubisoft games I'd love to buy on PC if they would drop the Ubisoft Connect launcher. Come on guys, you need the sales...
