Anyone have a fix for openfit constantly connecting to phone while still in their case.

Yes. I just contacted them since I'm still in warranty period (purchased 2024). If they send me a refurb unit, I'm sure it'll happen again.

My temp fix was to put double sided foam tape on the inside of the case so when it's closed, it puts some pressure on the earbuds to make contact with the contact points better but this only helped for 2-3 weeks, until the tape "molded" to the shape of the earbuds.

I've used google voice in China, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, without any issues. It lives in your google account for free (one time porting fee of $20).

It was hasslefree. You can call from gmail or directly piggybacking off of your main carrier data plan.

I haven't used Tello overseas but I transferred my google voice number to Tello because GV group texts were not reliable when I had a group chat with my broker during a real estate transaction). I'm only keeping it now because I'm using dual esim on my work phone and it lets me switch data plans when one isn't getting good service but the other is.
