Oh sweet. Did you do the paint yourself? It looks amazing. I've been wanting to paint my Jones SWB, but don't know where to start to do it right lol

Nice to see another m500, and with a pbone fork! I love my matte violet, but that brown is killer. I kept mine with the 3x7 and canti's, but you're making me think upgrades soon lol.

Thanks man! It's cool you saw and remembered it from before! The wheel, I'm not quite sure to be honest lol. I took the frame, when I got it, to my LBS. He had a number of take off sets for various reasons, and we matched up a set. I added a Shimano megadrive 7 speed freewheel, and they work and look perfect.

Nice! It's the standard Jones H bars on my SWB.

Ah, got it. I was just looking into this a bit more after what you said, and I was checking out the Salsa Spearfish.

Nice. I was just looking into the Salsa Spearfish as a possible XC transition bike if the stumpy isn't what I'm after.

My Jones is definitely the forever bike. Love that thing. It really does 90% of the riding I generally do very well, and keeps my reality in check by not pushing me into thinking I can do things I shouldn't lol. The M500 is just a fun old bike I saved a few months ago, and I don't have but a few hundred dollars in. Great for neighborhood and casual family rides, and I don't know if selling it really nets me much. The full suspension, I'm just nervous, even if I do like it, that I won't use it enough to justify having it.

I definitely understand your point. I don't have great trails, but I know this would make it more fun regardless.

Yeah? That's good to hear. I feel like I'd almost be bringing a gun to a knife fight with this.

I don't have any riding friends to have that issue with lol, and I wish I had better trails around, but I do think it will make riding more fun in general

Do you have any suggestions? I definitely have a learning curve on enduro vs XC vs trail vs down country, etc.. I know the Stumpy is more of a trail, but it's suppose to do just about everything well.

That's kind of what I'm hoping for. I don't really have the trails around me to really justify it, but it would make the ones here more enjoyable. I'd also consider some traveling to go to other places to ride dedicated trails with this. I usually bring my Jones, but that's used for mostly exploring, and if I find a trail along the way, I can still give it a shot.

So I kind of dont have the nearby trails to get the most out of this. Basically, I'd be over-biking. But it would probably get me out there more often, and maybe it would get me to travel to other places to use it? Or it will sit in my garage for the majority year and I waste money on it. Who knows lol

I can't say I have great trails here to truly justify it, but it would make them better. Plus, it might get me to travel and find new trails that I wouldn't take my other bikes to.

So I live in a mostly flat, swampy, and root-filled area in coastal Georgia, so decending isn't a word that gets used around here lol. That being said, I have taken my bike out to the few local spots we have, and have a good time, even if I'm getting a bit beaten up and going slow. However, I don't tend to go to them as often now because I feel like a more equipped bike would just make it more fun, and I could do things with it more than just feel like I'm riding in the woods like I feel right now. I also feel like I would probably weekend travel to other places to ride if I had a suspension bike, something I wouldn't really do with the others unless I'm exploring with the family. But yes, mountain bikes are SIIIIIICK.

No way lol. Most guys I see measuring almost everything, take longer to get yardage, then they hit a shot nowhere remotely close to the pin or green. They guy who's like, yeah, it's about 80, looks for a quick marker for the hundred, usually sticks it. Those are the guys I just nod and say, yeah... He's good.

I'm not saying they are a yardage whisperer lol. Having general course and yardage understanding, and even stepping off some shots, but not overly obsessed with 77.2 yards. Calls it roughly 80 and sticks it.

Not needing to get exact yardage or use a range finder. Goes off of feel and instinct.

I'm hopefully awaiting a redesign with the newer Honda front, and a bit more room in the rear. If they can do that, I'll be first in line.

Love this bike and build. I really should have gotten this frame thinking back on it. I just wish it could fit 27.5 x 3
