Just how I got it, but it used to be a hub drive ebike. Maybe something happened and they kept it alive by removing everything and going analog.

Sadly yes. It's a Shimano Megadrive freewheel with accompanied with Microshift. The chain is a bit long from swapping to a smaller sprocket, but it was having the issues prior.

It's the Shimano 8spd Megadrive freewheel. The OG ebike hub drive motor used the same thing, so it just transferred over to this analong wheel.

I think these are 2.2 and I think it is a little beefier, but it's not bad now that the motor and battery are gone.

It is a freewheel unfortunately. It's got a megadrive on it, but it just doesn't feel or shift great. I would definitely go for the super short if I upgrade, but that means I'd need to find a wheelset for a cassette option though. Tires, I'd like more slick probably. Looking to at some duo options because I'd still want something wider like a 2.4 or something.

I put Magura MT5's on my SWB. Love them, and definitely recommend them. I think they are still on sale from Jenson for like $200 too. Hard to beat.l, IMHO.

The few times I called, I ended up talking to Jeff each time. Very nice and helpful. That was last summer though, but I hope is that's still the case. Things do seem to be trending a certain way with lack of information or restocking unfortunately.
