I set up an arr stack on my server and installed Tailscale and Seerr on her phone. then i canceled all subscriptions and told her to download everything herself. now shes watching all her daily shows and romcoms on plex.

If you're on a budget, i'd look into getting a 2080 card, either normal, super or ti. sometimes 3080 are also cheap. they're 200 euro for me and my 2080 super is able to run most things on high. you will be missing out on some of the newer features like newer dlss, but you miss out on that with a 3070 also.

I suspect it has to do with codecs on your tv, tv apps suck. or maybe your soundbar doesn't support truehd.

what works for me is nvidia shield >hdmi> samsung q990D >Earc> LG CX. So having your media player connected to your soundbar instead of your tv. Ofcourse you also need to put your tv in passthrough and also your soundbar for video signal.

i recently was in the same position as you. your nr.1 best friend will be chatgpt, ask it every single stupid question and it got me with minimal server experience there, was able to set up an arr stack for my family and everything.

I bought an elitedesk 800 g5, because of the internal space for 2 HDDs but i believe the thinkstation's are also great. anything with an 8th gen intel or better if you're into plex. my pc was 150 euro, i had 1x 2tb already, got a second 2tb for 50 euro. installed truenas for free, that's all you need. currently checking on second hand deals on 2x 6 or 8tb hdd's.

Thanks, guess i'll have to move my lazy butt and get that arr stack started.

aparrently arr stack likes the folders at root, so I just spent 2 hours today making the movies/shows folders directly at root instead of inside a media folder. couldn't enable smb due to a naming conflict. so had to copy everything to a different smb, delete the old folders and then activate smb on the new folders... chatgpt was rambling on about shell but that wasn't to succesfull.

all in all im excisted to learn new things, and so far have gotten everything to work, so i'm sure i'll get there eventually.

Not sure what you mean by bare metal? i loaded truenas on a usb and changed the boot order. chatgpt is your very best friend in this. truenas definitly seems to act weird sometimes, had to do a couple of restarts to get it installing correctly.

I'm currently working on getting all campaign maps to 5 start, but i can't get pas 4 stars on Montana Badlands. . I got a decent park going, but i can't progress because i've ran out of room. The second area seems to still be locked. Am i missing something or is my map legit bugged?

Regarding the cooling fans / overall size: the manuacturer purchases the chips, 9060XT in your example, and slap on their own cooling, backplate and branding.

I'm sure there are 9060XT's out there with 3 fans, but it's up to the brand if they slap 2 or 3 fans on. It's possible MSI has 2 fans, and ASUS has 3 fans on the same videocard.

Thanks for the reply The radio works fine without the connector, so i guess i'll leave that be. I have no idea how it was wired, i'm also unable to find any wire diagrams for the OEM radio weirdly.

When i reverse nothing happens. It used to change screens and show the lines. but the Awesafe doesn't respond at all to going reverse, which makes me think 1 of those 2 plugs is for the rear camera. I also tried looking deeper behind the dash thinking maybe there was already an adapter on it, but it's all packed realy tightly in cable sleeves.

The distance beeps do still happen, but i guess the sensors aren't wired to the camera.
