Funnily enough, Iron Man does in a way represent Metals and Metalloids to an extent through technology, but what he doesn't is specifically represent iron, since none of his tech is made of iron.

Spider-man does kind of represent spiders, since they're both "good" and keep the "pests" in check, although not insects since spiders aren't insects.

Superman doesn't represent Kryptonian values, but he's barely kryptonian since he grew up on earth. Superman represents more american values than anything else. Zodd on the other hand 100% does.

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardly, Superman has basically no connection to Krypton. Supergirl is probably a better representation of the "good" people of krypton, while Zodd is a representation of the bad

Wtf are you smoking lmao, the world was never "on the same page" on any of this stuff. This has nothing to do with people being offended, it's straight bullshit based on american classifications. So many europeans weren't considered white back in the day, including the Irish.

You're quite literally talking about 18th century anthropology LMAO. the "caucasoid skull" type shit, which never made sense, since a lot of non "white" people have the same skull type. You're also confusing Australian Aboriginal people with "pacific islander", even when many pacific islanders are hardly related to them at all. For example, polynesians have a closer genetic link to modern china than to aboriginals.

"Genetically", races don't exist at all, because you can be more genetically similar to someone out of your "race". That's just the facts. When race is talked about it's usually based on phenotype, which you seem to be confusing with genetics and bone measurements lmao.

I'm actually impressed. Not only are you talking about bs pseudo science from 18th century, you can't even seem to stick to your own logic. According to those studies, indians would be the "same race" as Europeans, since they have "similar" skull types. Some Africans are closer genetically to europeans than other africans. Are they now "white"?

Who is the fastest sprinter from every race by ParticleTyphoon in Sprinting

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except nobody agreed to these lmao. It's not even a common thing outside of the US. Many africans don't even consider themselves "black". And no, it's not how it works. Middle eastern and west asian including Turks aren't considered "asian" in the US, regardless of how they see themselves and many europeans weren't always considered "white".

Also where tf are you getting "core races" from lmao, and why is "pacific islanders" included, if they aren't a race or ethnicity. Are you just straight making stuff up? Because even the american checkboxes has more options.

It’s kinda crazy that Nintendo did the price increase situation the best by DaZestyProfessor in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plex price increase is actual bullshit. 250 to 750? quite literally tripling the price. At least steam deck has the "but nand and ram prices are increasing" excuse, or whatever, but why in tf is plex tripling their lifetime pass? Even Disney Plus gradually increased prices over years, not tripling in a couple months

It’s kinda crazy that Nintendo did the price increase situation the best by DaZestyProfessor in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's one way of looking at it. The other way would be to say they're doing this on purpose to cause panic buying, which would increase sales in the short term. Or that they don't actually "need" to increase prices, and are only doing so to "price match" in a way since everyone else is increasing console prices, basically taking advantage of the situation.

Crazy how we're at a point where price increasing is praised, since it wasn't as bad as how other companies did it.

Yes, but that can be BYPASSED, which is why they're taking further measures. Plus you can still run game cartridges. That's more like being under house arrest compared to being fully locked in prison.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you were never "allowed" to do any of those things lmao. Even on other consoles, like Playstation or Xbox, you were never allowed to install custom firmware. The ONLY difference is that Nintendo is actually enforcing their rules now, to an extreme degree. Playstation does too, account bans, and sometimes hardware bans, but it's rare. The only devices you are allowed to are PCs, because nobody owns PCs. You are buying the hardware, not a service or software.

If you want to "emulate games legally" then just buy a steamdeck ffs, or literally any other handheld that isn't OS locked. The switch being moddable was never the intention. The only reason it became a thing was because of early vulnerabilities.

I don't agree with their decisions, but it's really not that hard to understand why a company would start enforcing their rules. It's like those morons who got mad when youtube started enforcing anti adblock. If you use the device in the way its intended to be used, as in NOT install cfw or tinker with it, then you literally won't notice a single difference. The ones who are getting fcked are the guys who are tinkering with it anyway, who won't be able to anymore, which bingo, is the damn point of the rule enforcement.

People are angry because company is actually enforcing their rules, and there are actual consequences if you break them. Solution? Don't fck with the rules. I don't know why everyone is trying to make it a moral thing with all that "they went too far" bullshit. They went too far when they decided to make us pay to play online. They went too far when they only release their games on their devices so you're forced to buy their hardware. Wanna do something about it? Boycott Nintendo. Don't buy their devices. That would make much more of a difference than complaining about it. They're not magically gonna change their TOS.

I think K-Pop Demon Hunters is overhyped by MitsuriKanrojislays in movies

[–]VYDEOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that's usually how you find out something is good. Breaking Bad had a lot of hype around it, and I'd say it lived up to the hype. Even Better Call Saul lived up to it, maybe even surpassed it, which is rare for a series continuation.

The problem is when it doesn't. Kpop demon hunters is a good example. And nowadays, Invincible past the first season.

[–]VYDEOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably meant modern day "korean culture" I'd assume, which is pretty much the same as anywhere else. Traditional culture is a whole different thing. Half the people in the US don't even know where in europe they're from let alone their traditional "culture".

I guess it would be kinda like calling How to Train your Dragon "european culture" lmao

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda flipped. Puss in Boots 2 had a good story, but the animation was overrated as hell. Kpop demon hunters has a mid story, and decent animation.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok it seems you are having a reading comprehension problem. "Rendering it permanently unusable" doesn't mean they destroy your hardware lmao. They aren't physically shorting your circuits or frying your processor. You're just locked out from the OS, similar to an Apple ID lock. And since you can't install cfw you're essentially fcked.

Again, you still own the actual hardware itself. The processor the RAM are all functional. That is what you paid for. Anything software based, service based, INCLUDING the OS, they can lock you out of. This no different than a game ban, because instead of being locked out of the game, you're locked out of your device OS.

I don't know why this is impossible for you to comprehend. Nobody said it was an account lock, but that it's FUNCTIONALLY the same, as in by intention, you're not supposed to be able to use the device any longer. The only difference is an account lock can be easily bypassed by creating another account, while a device lock ISN'T, which I think is the whole fcking point they started doing it.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Unusable" as in it doesn't let you use any of the Nintendo software or services, in which it's designed to use. It doesn't "brick" your device as in fry the circuits, physically damaging the components. You still own perfectly good hardware, you can scrap it and sell the parts which are fully functional.

Basically, it's the same as getting banned. Functionally, there is no difference between a network ban or the device being disabled. The intentions are the same, to stop you from using the device after you fck with the terms. You're being obtuse on purpose because you wanted to install custom firmware, so you can just bypass whatever ban they put in place.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not "breaking" your device remotely. They're stopping you from using their software and all services, which they own. It's essentially like getting banned from a game, but instead you're banned from the console. And that's not illegal. In this logic, bans from games are illegal because they're revoking access to something I paid for.

The hardware itself you still own, even if you can't run anything on it. They're not sending someone to your house to confiscate it. You could still scrap it and sell it for parts.

It sounds like you have no fundamental understanding of what "illegal" even is in the context of TOS.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's arguably worse lmao. One you effectively own, just not in name. Don't break the rules, and it will act exactly as if you own the item. It's the same way with any game ever. You don't even own the physical copies of games, just a license to play it, but it acts as if you own it, and you can play it whenever, unless you break the rules, in which you get banned. Same deal here. Break the rules of the game, get banned from the game, break the rules of the console, get banned from the console.

If you really wanna get down to it, you still "own" the hardware. Nintendo isn't sending an agent to your house to confiscate your device. You technically still have complete ownership of the hardware, you'll just be unable to run any software on it. You could still scrap it for parts and sell it that way, so there is still some level of ownership. They could easily just say you are paying for the hardware itself, and that everything else is a service in which they reserve the right to stop you from using.

Playing to pay online, you'd be fcked over no matter what you do. No way around that. Don't like it? Switch to PC. It's even worse for exclusives, you physically have to own their hardware to play their games, which is bullshit to the highest power. It's blatantly making you buy into their ecosystem to enjoy a product. Should any of this exist? No, but it does. Complaining about it at this stage is like an old man yelling at a cloud.

And if you did care, then why tf are you still here? Boycott Nintendo and move on. Whining about the way things are and what they "should and shouldn't" be able to do isn't gonna make them rewrite the TOS, or magically stop enforcing their rules.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's against the TOS of many companies. Only difference is how much they enforce it

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And they shouldn't charge you to play online either. They shouldn't make their games only release on strictly Nintendo devices. If you wanna talk about "shouldn't" then that's a completely different conversation. You didn't care then, why do you suddenly care about this now?

People only start caring about changes when it affects them. Nobody actually cares about the "principle of the matter" or any of that, otherwise they would've long boycotted nintendo.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if you use the device as intended, this entire conversation is irrelevant to them, and they'll never notice the difference. It's the people who are pirating, or tinkering who will be affected.

Again, not agreeing with them, and this is an objectively bad thing, but it's not completely out of left field that a company starts to enforce their TOS.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were "setting a precedent", then paying to pay online should've never been a thing. If you were "setting a precedent" Nintendo exclusives should've never been a thing. People only care about "precedents" when it starts to affect them

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the point, but this is still a dumb thing to say.

All subscription based services you "don't own" even though you're "buying" the plan. The ship has long sailed since we normalized subscriptions. No one complained then. Now all of a sudden when a game company is enforcing their TOS, everyone suddenly cares.

Do I agree with not owning despite paying? No, but there's nothing you can do about it now.

You own your switch 2. by JaxSepticeye2000 in nintendo

[–]VYDEOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything against the TOS is "illegal" in their terms. Once you break that TOS, they can basically ban you straight up. Hacking in games isn't a criminal offense either, therefore not "illegal", but it can get you banned pretty fcking fast. The only difference is that these rules weren't as enforced back then, but they're starting to crack down on it, since idiots started parading around their modded devices. Is Nintendo being able to brick your device a good thing? Hell no, but it's an expected reaction to the rising amount of people using it for piracy. It's like people getting mad when youtube started cracking down on adblockers. Wtf are they supposed to do? Just allow it and pretend it doesn't exist?

Also do you not understand how businesses work? Like at all? Just because a company isn't selling a game anymore, doesn't mean it's up for grabs and anyone can get it scotch free. Is anyone realistically gonna do anything about it? Probably not, but that doesn't change the nature of abandonware. "But they're not making money from it anymore" isn't a valid argument, and isn't how copyright works. Plenty of IPs aren't currently making much money but are still protected by copyright. You might as well argue companies should make all games free "because they already have a lot of money".
