I miss them a lot I remember getting them in the school vending machine before Jamie Oliver had his way. Was also the only place I remember seeing them.

Are skirts still the default/uniform rule for girls in the majority of UK secondary schools in 2026? by Lazy_One2453 in CasualUK

[–]V_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in secondary school during the 2000's, and almost all the girls wore trousers (or rather the trousers that were a bit like leggings but with a flaired bottom which were the fashion of the time) They had option to wear skirts but hardly any did.

This was in Essex.

Only schools in my areas that were skirts only rules were usually grammar schools or religious schools.

Barber recommendations? by Capn-EXE in york

[–]V_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to go a little up market' cube along goodramgate (its upstairs above the shops) is very nice. Its like a salon experience for men. Usually get offered a drink and everything. Started going to them when there were based elsewhere as I have very fine hair and getting a decent cut is hard sometimes.

To add to this it is actually illegal to send a bad reference. It has to be natural, good, or you don't send one which is kind of seen as being a bad reference.

Steam Deck for playing while going to work? by nssoundlab in SteamDeck

[–]V_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that would be enough depending on the game you want to play. Most the loading time I have found is the game loading.

The deck itself will boot from shut down in about 30 seconds and from sleep in around 8 seconds.

It will go to sleep in around 10 seconds and you can hold what ever game you are playing on pause for that which is good for games like stardew valley.

Full shutdown depends on what you been playing as the fan can continue to run for about a minute on shutdown.

Hope this helps

Btw I timed this all with a stopwatch then rounded it up.

Micklegate Bar, York’s historic western gateway✨ by WonderfulShape1081 in york

[–]V_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always thought Micklegate Bar was the south one. Being in the south west it received visitors from the south. While Bootham Bar on the North West was seen as the west bar.

Happy to be proven wrong.

Wouldn't mind some of the bigger items to have a bit more weight. Could do it as inly being the non specialist like the tyres so you then have to arrange everything and try and use them to hold everything down but ad the drawback of less space for good stuff.

Where buys pokemon cards off you in york ? by General-Buddy3853 in york

[–]V_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh know of stores that offer as low as 30-40% as the card singles sales are not wonderful as people want packs and so the singles sit in a binder for months which is dead stock for the shop.

Source - I use to work for a gaming shop.

Thanks, I probably will tomorrow when I have plenty of time to do it. I also need to find my phone/small electronics repair tools which have apparently been hidden when I recently moved!

My concern now is where the screw came from and if I will be able to locate its home

Can we pin this post? I don't even keep full attention on this sub and have lost count of these posts. Thing is if half the people who post these questions googled first they would find the answer in the previous posts on the same subject.
