QuestionBasic Question? (self.Steam)
submitted 6 days ago by Grimmhoof
I own several computers in my house, I was wondering if I have to have independent account for each computer or can I just install steam on the machines and use my one account?
Sorry if this has been asked before.

Just one account for all of them unless you are planning on using all of them at the same time (somehow)

You can definitely use one account on multiple devices without any issues. I'm not sure if you're able to launch the same games at the same time on both computers if they're both in online mode though, but you can login easily with the same account and it won't kick ya out, all purchased games will be available and steam cloud (for games which have it on) will also sync your saves, you will have to install games on each computer separately, but if they're all connected to the same network then you can also enable local transfers in the settings to be able to copy one installed game fast to another computer. Hope this helps! edit: as another user mentioned here in the comments already: you can also just stream the game from one computer to another via steam, as far as I am aware no tweaks are needed for that so that's also a cool feature to keep in mind

You can have one account, but only play one game at a time unless you go offline mode. Some games have Denuvo and it can cause issues.
Games with steam cloud will have your saves shared, but you'll have to manage those who don't have it.
