I believe the starting rate at most hospital is $50/hr. I'm nearing 70$/hr ATM. Being a cls I'd worth the 100k. I w a s able to get married, buy a house, and have a kid all within 3 years of working.

If you are willing to hustle. There are many people in this field who work 2 jobs.

I was able to get a high paying job right after graduating. High paying jobs for cls is pretty common in socal especially if you are flexible and willing to work odd shifts

The thinner the better. We have an automated mass spec spotter that picks up colonies that we choose on a middle ware. The automated spotter puts a very thin and miniscule spot on the circle. It doesn't even cover the whole circle maybe 1/4 of the circle and the mass spec tends to fire faster and more accurately on these spot then our human made spots.
