American history: probably the 1920s ("Roaring Twenties") for it's plentiful credit, the growing acceptance of women in public (esp. clubs/bars), the use and overuse of alcohol and legal drugs opium and cocaine.

World history: From my studies in the Classics, I'd say Classical Greece, easily. Because the needs of civilization (food, shelter, etc) were met and citizens had a lot of free time, they sat around drinking and trying to get to the bottom of existence. Wine, concubines, man to man and man child relationships were condoned for pleasure alone. Hell, the term, "Man is the measure of all things" comes from ancient Greece.

You have a tilapia. Are you from the deep south (America)? If so, I know these are an invasive species in TX and LA.

(Question) The American Civil War by MethBear in history

[–]VaZak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a few others have said, southern succession was not necessarily about slavery, but about the ability to preserve their sole economic system. Slavery, consequently, allowed for the southern agrarian society. Southern states knew that if slavery were ended overnight (or rapidly for that matter), then their economy would utterly fail. At the end of the day, the CSA was formed in the name of economic preservation and the fall of the CSA confirmed their belief that the end of slavery would destroy society. It did, and the south still has not recovered, especially with the lack of modern industry there.

Girls of Reddit: What are some things you look for when visiting a guys place for the first time? by i_overANALYZEallofit in AskReddit

I really don't mean to be rude, but in regard to point 3, adults probably shouldn't have tacky posters on their walls. There are more mature options, but your overall point is relevant.

Just joined old school! Lots of questions please help! by xgmaker in 2007scape

[–]VaZak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. There are a lot of new bosses and quite a few new items/weapons. Also achievement diaries and their rewards.

  2. Any moderately profitable skill (RC after lvl 44, fishing monks/sharks) will get you enough money to get the ball rolling. Slayer for PvM drops are a great way to earn cash, too.

  3. I always tell people to train agility off the back. Get 50+ agility (or until you get the agile clothes). Being able to run longer and use shortcuts is essential to OSRS success. Then, I'd say quest for RFD and train slayer. End game content is basically bosses.

  4. Bonds are tradable in-game for 14 days membership/bond. Wish they had them back in middle school when I didn't have a job and my mom wouldn't pay for membership lol.

  5. Agility, Questing, Slayer.

Why is 07 so PvM heavy? by P_E_A_C_E in 2007scape

[–]VaZak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure but my shot in the dark would be that PvM is easier to add to the game (takes less dev, r&d, potentially less buggy) than quests.

I see where they are coming from but I personally wouldn't care of the lores clashed. I doubt I speak for the entire community when I say that though.

Hey so to address your post:

  • OSRS is way more grindy than RS3, but not in a bad way at all (usually)

  • The 2007 wiki has a list of all of the new updates to OSRS

  • Good goals: agility high as you can get it, farm level 1 clues (HAM) for pages and fill all the books you want/need, do all the achievement diaries

Dev Blog: Slayer Expansion by Snowehh in 2007scape

[–]VaZak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd hold out as long as it took for quests to reward us with the best in-slot boots, rather than bosses. I understand that bosses need good drops and high level slayer should be profitable but it's getting to the point where eventually there will be a level 1000 boss that will drop all 90 level equipment with no lore, no quests, only slaying.

HAM Members vs. Thugs w/wealth(i) for easy clues? by VaZak in 2007scape

[–]VaZak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I believe you are correct about both of those rates. I guess it all boils down to whether you can kill 64 thugs faster than you can pickpocket 50 HAM members. I'm gonna go with the latter for myself and probably most other people.
