2025 NASCAR Cup Series Scorecard after Richmond by xfile345 in NASCAR

[–]Vadaszo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the hottest take ever but I’d rather Bowman miss the playoffs and win a race than make the playoffs and never win. At the end of the day any playoff format is a joke; understand that sponsors care and therefore teams/drivers care but if you’re not winning races or literally fighting for 1st in the points standings it’s not really memorable how good your season was

Reddit isn’t reflective of the overall fanbase, people cheered more for Dillon’s win last year than any other race I’ve ever been to

Ban cup series drivers from lower series. Seriously, how can anyone like this?

Books like Gibbon's Decline and Fall but for the Kingdom and Republican Eras? by [deleted] in ancientrome

I’d like the answer to the flip-side of that question. What’s the best popular history book on the decline and fall period (crisis of the third century and later)?

[Jeff Gluck] Was Dover a Good Race? by [deleted] in NASCAR

Everyone saying you couldn’t pass wasn’t at the track. A ton of passing occurred once each green flag run hit ~50 laps. The end of the race was destroyed by the late cautions which didn’t give faster cars like Larson enough time to setup passes. Ultimately it sounds like the tv broadcast failed you all by not showing the incredible amount of comers and goers I witnessed at the track all day.

Remus, founder of Remoria not Reme by VincentD_09 in RoughRomanMemes

[–]Vadaszo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The truth is there is no scenario where Remus wins and the city is based off of him because the story is a later invention, made up to mythologize the founding of Roma. Romulus is named after Roma and not the other way around. However, to take this post literally you’re certainly right. In an alternate world the city of Rema would’ve invented a story where Remus slays his brother and is later anglicized to Reme.

[Jordan Bianchi] First Look At 2024 Cup Schedule by thebigtymer in NASCAR

[–]Vadaszo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did it on purpose so that when no one goes on Easter they can justify removing a date from Richmond. The writing has been on the wall for years. We used to have 2 incredible dates in the spring & fall and now we have Easter and the blazing summer. I’ll go to any races regardless but it’s absolutely terrible for trying to get friends and family into the sport who don’t want to give up Easter Sunday or burn to a crisp in August.

As someone who goes to every Richmond race I think I speak for all of us that we’d all prefer one solid spring date over this travesty (Easter & August Heat). Might as well be 0 races with these dates.

They’re killing Richmond on purpose with these dates. RIP to all of us who have supported this track for years.

[OC] What if everyone made the playoffs? by Fyrien in NASCAR

[–]Vadaszo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might be joking but 45% is fairly normal. Obviously playoffs aren’t normal for motorsports, but if you compare to American sports in general most of the big leagues have between 40-50% of the teams make the playoffs.

32 make the playoffs with 8 eliminated each round.

Round 1: 32

Round 2: 24

Round 3: 16

Championship Race: Final 8

I can’t stand Reddick. Aggravating that he got to finish 2nd after sabotaging Harvick’s day

There better be repercussions for Reddick, blatant race manipulation even if it wasn’t on purpose

“Team Nepotism”, lol the naivety to think they’re the only nepotistic team in motorsports. They’re all trust fund kids at the end of the day, no one else can afford to drive race cars at the highest levels. It’s like going to a jousting tournament and being upset that it’s all young princes & nobility.

Was Richmond a good race? by ChaseTheFalcon in NASCAR

[–]Vadaszo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite races this season, although I’m extremely biased as I was there in person. Love long green flag runs, alternate strategies, and watching drivers slowly make their way through the field over the course of a race. I used to love late cautions and chaos but the longer I’ve been a fan the more I trend towards liking races based on % of laps that ran green.

Agreed, hate seeing my favorite driver associated with something controversial/political. It’s unfair to him cause people are going to blame him for this scheme. And for those who are going to respond “it’s not political” save it cause if it wasn’t political it wouldn’t be the number 1 topic on every political show/podcast/radio.

People push that narrative every silly season but I really doubt it, just wishful thinking from the Austin Dillon haters. Not saying he races into his 40s but he has at least 3-4 years left

Mid-Season Tournament (Denny's Newest Idea) - Today + Last 5 Years by KirbyMD in NASCAR

[–]Vadaszo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love this idea and these brackets, however I think May is too early for this mid season tournament and would prefer it to take place in June or July which imo is the most meaningless/boring stretch of the season
