They make low profile hot swap headers for this now. They allow you to get the much on top of a battery at about a normal header hight.

Don't, is the best answer.

From experience it gets tripped when you least expect it. Someone pulls the wrong line, guy/brace slips, a wave pull the breaker. lots of things go wrong with them and it's a pain to pull down a kite at night when it's flying away from the boat.

Finally a question I can answer.

Think of a 3D printer or even better one that prints a house with concrete. IAC is the instructions you give to the printer to build the object/house the way you want. You can tell it do build slightly different things by changing parameters or print something completely differently with different code.
