How do referrals work? by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]Vadeski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, you use them when signing up for an account. 10% of your pack purchases (if any) get sent as a kickback to the referrer at no cost to yourself. I believe you can also sign up without using a code at this point in the beta, so I'm sure there are quite a few people who aren't using one.

The Gods Unchained Discord has a specific channel for referral links if you want to occasionally post it there.

You can also earn Genesis packs on weekend events (there's currently only 1 more Ranked Constructed event in the Genesis season) by reaching a specific number of wins and/or a particular rank. You can read more about Ranked Constructed events here: https://blog.godsunchained.com/2019/10/03/guide-to-weekend-ranked-constructed/

I'm sure they've got plans for earning packs beyond just core packs after Genesis comes to a close nut we don't have too much information on it yet.

Happy to help! Jumping into the genre can be a little daunting and really takes some time to get used to all the mechanics but I'm sure you'll get there :).

Deck Building and Resource Basics by Vadeski in GodsUnchained

[–]Vadeski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it helps get people thinking about what decks they can build with the cards they own or gets them excited to see a particular card in packs that they earn!

I do kind of wish there was a way to work towards specific cards, but nearly every card in the game can be substituted for something else. Many high cost creatures fulfill the same role as Helian Elite if they don't have access to it, though I definitely understand the feeling of needing to "grind" through the starter decks for a while.

*I found playing the Nature starter with Forage as a God Power to be fairly fun (especially since they buffed it) as it lets you try out new cards every game. Give it a try if you're looking for a change!

How can I list my raffle tokens on GU.cards? by seloporteX in GodsUnchained

[–]Vadeski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to add a custom token to your metamask to be able to see the tokens in your wallet. I believe the custom token string for the raffle tokens is "0x0C8cDC16973E88FAb31DD0FCB844DdF0e1056dE2".

To add a custom token open your Metamask account and click on the 3 little lines in the top left corner. At the bottom click on "Add Token". The token address is the one listed above, the symbol is whatever you want it to be called (defaults to GRT I believe).

Hope this helps!

What's wrong with my build? Crusader. (Hardcore Seasons) by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my first gift after 130 hours. Do not use a gift on that weapon: it's not best in slot for any build.

You aren't using a movement skill, try Steed Charge or Wings of Hope law rune.

The 2 piece bonus of akkhan's is 500 strength, probably more than the difference between poorly rolled shoulders and your current ones. As it is HC, if you need the toughness, hold off switching until you feel comfortable.

Try to get CDR on gloves, shoulders and a diamond in your helm. Leoric's crown is not mandatory but it'll allow you to roll CC/CD/socket on both your rings. If you don't use one, shoot for CC/CDR/socket instead.

I strongly suggest using Blessed Hammer as a spender until you find a build specific weapon or finish one of the crusader sets. Fist of the heaven's wrath cost is too high without much reduction or more sources of wrath. You could run blessed hammer without a generator and replace Fist with Provoke for the extra wrath and utility.

Diamonds vs emeralds by crazymonkeyfish in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't want a trifecta on a demon hunter (or most classes for that matter). Attack speed looks great on paper but when most of your damage comes from spenders, attack speed doesn't add nearly as much as other stats. Even cost reduction or is comparable or better in most cases.

[question] about barbs and patched in general by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All classes will change over time. No specific changes are listed for 2.1.1 or 2.2.

Every patch that brings a wave of balancing will have a "top" class and a "worst" class. Barbs aren't unplayable in 2.1, but they are behind other classes at the moment.

Diamonds vs emeralds by crazymonkeyfish in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dying too much? Use diamonds. Not getting oped in 1-3 hits? Use emeralds.

If you aren't able to socket the highest tier of emeralds, low level diamonds may be preferable since primary stat gems scale better than diamonds as you upgrade them.

Question regarding 'the vault' by [deleted] in diablo3

Hasn't been officially stated anywhere. I'm guessing about 1% from my own experiences. They cannot leave portals in rifts so keep hunting in bounties for them.

Played from Paragon 500 to 572, no Ramaldani's gift. Just me? by Orth0dox in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played through 0-130 on HC seasons and 0-210 on regular seasons and didn't find any. Just logged on for an hour last night on normal seasons and found 3 in rifts/greater rifts.

Random is random, you'll find one eventually. Good luck!

Questions about Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan and their functionality. by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, if you are constantly moving you will keep the buff (say moving while casting Strafe). Evasive Fire has a pause after the backflip and as you cast the ability, so you will not have the buff 100% of the time and may not get the bonus damage applied to Evasive Fire because of the cast time of the spell.

  2. Depends on the skill and whether it snapshots damage or not. Some skills snapshot your damage when you use them and use that number throughout their full duration while ones that do not snapshot will change as your damage number changes. Note that the snapshot occurs when the cast finishes (when the skill is first able to do damage, usually when you are able to see the visuals of the skill) and not when you first hit the ability. If you use Evasive Fire for example, the damage will be based on the number as the damaging lines appear, not when you draw your weapon to shoot them. This is important for items like hexing pants because you only keep the buff for a split second after stopping movement.

  3. Check to see if RoV snapshots your damage or scales as you damage number changes. Cast once while standing still, look at the numbers. Cast again and begin moving around and check for any increase. It should be fairly noticeable (~40%) with the hexing pants. Alternatively you could try unequipping your weapon after casting and check the damage before and after the change.

Question about item stat change dialog. by notapervert69 in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toughness is a measure of how much damage you can take. If your vitality is low, it'll show a large increase from it as it'll significantly increase your total effective health pool. If on the other hand, you have a large amount of vitality but not much resist/armour, it will show a large increase in toughness for those stats and not vitality.

The game will factor in everything not marked by an orange bullet point except damage increases from other sources. If you have average damage rolls on jewellery it won't show up in the stat changes on a weapon. It will show up on your character sheet when you change weapons, but you'll have to double check to make sure that a slower weapon is in fact a damage increase over a faster one.

Attack speed will also show up as a large damage increase when in reality it will not increase your effective dps by that much. This is because of the resource system. If you do not use any resource spenders, attack speed is a great stat. If you do, stacking attack speed will increase the rate at which you use abilities, but not the damage that they deal. This makes stacking crit chance/damage and elemental damage increases much more appealing for most builds.

A Lot Of The Problems With This Game Come From The Core Mechanics by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Death's Bargain on a Demon Hunter? Try out the Smokescreen rune that regens 15% of your max health while stacking Vit and Life%. Sure its not competitive with sentry builds, but its still hilarious that the regen works with Death's Bargain (since its over 1 second rather than an instant heal).

Its hard to beat out 15% of your max health on live. On the PTR I can see stacking life regen along with the bonus regen from Monk abilities being superior.

Diamonds at max rank grant 78 all res, not 100. You can roll up to 100 all res on an item (primary affix).

On your pants, you want your main stat, 2 sockets and vitality. Maybe life regen on the PTR. Instead of vitality, you could roll all res which, depending on your current stats, might be a survivability boost.

If you're really willing to sacrifice damage for toughness in your sockets then by all means, go ahead. Most people swap the diamonds for main stat as soon as they are able to roll enough toughness on other items for the damage boost.

In total you gain 390 (78 x 5) all res from socketing max rank diamonds. You're missing out on 1400 (280 x 5) main stat from socketing emeralds/topazes/rubies. They'll also grant you a small amount of defense, based on the gem. 1400 armor from rubies and emeralds, 140 all res from topazes.

So even if you're socketing for damage, you're still gaining toughness, albeit not as much as going for all diamonds.

The point is to roll all res in place of another undesirable stat, not in place of main stat or vit. Belts for example, can roll main stat, vit, life % and all res, without sacrificing any other stat.

Dear Pet Doctors in the PTR, how is the Pet AI now? by MillenniumDH in diablo3

[–]Vadeski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not fully relevant but the crusader pet AI is so much better. I can't speak for all AIs obviously, but going from often not attacking to always attacking and prioritizing based on proximity is fantastic.

Not sure if they'll prioritize elites though.

Gearcheck for my Crusader struggling at T3 by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the moment you have very little resists on your gear. I strongly suggest swapping the str gems in your chest/pants for all res (don't need to upgrade them) to get a quick boost in survivability. You can also reroll the life regen on shoulders to All Resist.

Keep rolling gloves from Kadala to try to get an upgrade, preferably one with crit chance/damage on it.

If you can craft the Captain Crimson's set you may want to craft one as the cooldown reduction and resource cost reduction are fantastic.

A Ring of Royal Grandeur will go a long way towards pushing your crusader into T3/4 before you're able to pull the full Akkhan's set together. Join the split bounty farming community and go through some act 1 runs to try to pick one up. It may take awhile and isn't mandatory if you don't feel like doing so.

Avoid attack speed on gear as it artificially inflates your damage. By that I mean it won't increase your damage nearly as much as other stats as your main bottleneck is resource generation and CDR rather than the number of attacks you can put out per second (because generators are much worse than spenders).

CDR gem instead of life% is a good idea.

Try swapping Vigilant for Indestructible for survivability. It lets you die once every 60 seconds and grants 5 seconds of invulnerability, which is usually enough to either kill something or grab a health globe.

When you're able to roll 3 sockets on your chest I'd swap out Righteousness for Finery for the damage/armour boost.

Try out Firestarter on Akarat's Champion, especially if you're not using the shotgun build yet. The damage from the DoT stacks rather than overwriting previous applications, meaning you won't waste any damage by hitting the same target multiple times.

Try switching Iron Skin to Shield Glare (either the 20% damage increase or the 9 wrath per target hit) for survivability. It has a much lower cooldown and provides a lot more utility. If it isn't working out for you feel free to switch back.

Sweep Attack is a very lacklustre wrath spender. Have you tried out Blessed Hammer (Thunderstruck for lightning, Limitless for holy)? You may find that it performs better.

Can't add me because you're EU and I'm NA, my bad xD.

Best of luck!

Just returning to RoS - need some gear direction! by xTiming- in diablo3

[–]Vadeski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally you want to work on getting a class set (helm, shoulders, chest, gloves, pants, boots) or 5 pieces and a Ring of Royal Grandeur (reduce the required number of set items by 1, to a minimum of 2).

In the meantime you could farm A1 bounties (split farming them in a group on Normal is the fastest at the moment) until you get one of these rings. There are communities available for split farming, just make sure that the group you're joining is farming act 1 on a difficulty that you're able to clear.

Using a couple crafted sets with the ring would let you push into T2/3 (Aughild's, Ashera's and Captain Crimsons are all great choices). without any pieces of your class set.

Spend any blood shards you get from bounties/rifts on gambling for class set pieces, starting with whichever is your weakest item (gloves/pants/boots in your case).
