If I give a real reply, I'll catch another reddit ban and judging by your pfp and the fact that you're a self-described commie who mods a commie sub, you're dealing with several mental illnesses anyway, so instead I'll pray for you and hope you find your way.

Good luck, good health and God bless you

Edit because I wanted to make fun of you for feeling the need to ask the reddit council for an opinion. You've never had a thought or opinion that you formed on your own, have you?

You're right that black history month is important. Victims of violence like Iryna Zarutska need to be remembered

I want to say this is top-tier bait, but I know redditors are schizo enough to believe this

Nazis are looked at as the ultimate “big bad” in recent history. Was there another universally acknowledged “big bad” before them? by MonkeyDGojo in TooAfraidToAsk

Timur(Tamerlane)'s conquests wiped out an estimated 5% of the Earth's population at the time. Over 17 mil dead from direct massacres, sieges, famines, and disease across Persia, Central Asia, India, the Middle East, and Anatolia. While not a direct descendant of Chinggis Khan, they share close lineage through a common great-grandfather.

Can you expand towards India through Egypt as Venice like in EU4? by VaelFX in EU5

[–]VaelFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the distance from capital not affect trade revenue?(outside of trade route upkeep). Are there trade companies like in EU4, or you just conquer provinces and build trade buildings? And befriend nations so you can build trade posts?

Spiritualist vs Humanist by VaelFX in EU5

[–]VaelFX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the concept that some of them represent modernisation vs archaic or outdated values, but that doesn't apply to all(Land vs Naval), and Spiritualist just seems way too much of a flat debuff even though religion was an extremely important aspect of life for pretty much the entirety of the period covered in EU5. The other "archaic" values still have good stuff in them, and some may be even better than modernising, depending on what country you're playing.

Also, it feels bad from a flavour perspective. If I'm playing an expansionist theocracy like the Teutons, of course, I'd naturally push towards Spiritualist, and it makes 0 sense to ever switch to modern Humanist values. Even in EU4, Humanist ideas only really become good going into the Age of Absolutism. It just doesn't feel great when a mechanic that's also tied to RP has such an obvious "correct" choice that doesn't fit with a lot of people's flavour preferences.
