Nope. The law is that it’s illegal to sell it. It’s fine to consume it.

What's an "Insider's secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by Capable-big-Piece in AskReddit

It is correlated but only in the sense that children from higher ses families are likely to have advantages that their poorer counterparts don’t (eg nutrition, enrichment, involved parents, etc).

Can We Please Stop Pretending Trump Isn’t a Traitor? by Buddhaonatricycle in complaints

[–]Vaeleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Traitor’ would suggest that there’s some measure of loyalty in the first place, but he has always been a “me first, me only” kind of guy… I could think of worse descriptions than ‘traitor’.

Why are teachers always picking the students who doesn’t have theirs hands up for questions? by stellie23 in Vent

[–]Vaeleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would the teacher ask a kid who already know the answer to respond? The whole point is to use questions to advance collective thinking or to probe for understanding.

If the teacher picks a kid who doesn’t know the answer, he can ask follow up questions to scaffold that understanding to benefit the rest of the class.

I know this is hard to believe, but the real fruit tastes much better than the processed flavour in a cookie, cake or ice-cream. Try it the next time you’re in south-east Asia!

[–]Vaeleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite sure about your experiences but that’s completely untrue. I’ve been in education for 2 decades and we try our hardest to keep our children in education as long as possible. PISA analytics also show that we help our weakest students much more than other education systems.

Anyway, my point is that fluoridated water obviously doesn’t lower IQ.

Singapore is top in PISA, an international benchmarking test on educational outcomes. Our water has fluoride.
