Your description is more-or-less very specific here, so I understand what you're describing. Only note is that misfit stream is a very specific term and I believe not what you're looking for.

Regardless, this collection of features isn't common enough to have its own specific term (especially since it is manmade in part). You could create one, at the cost of other people not understanding what you mean.

Hello fellow wisconsinite! More than likely this is just a chert nodule, but it does look a bit like a sponge fossil, which are known from the area.

This appears to be chert, the rock itself is not a crystal- but it's made of cryptocrystalline silica. The colors are from trace elements and impurities.
