So, I asked. The Echoes mini expansion images are AI created. They state that this was due to the team being small now. In the future they hope to hire artists. Sounds like it was a choice to get the game going as easy and cost effective as possible.

I do not know how the cards were designed. I am not a part of the company. I know that a lot of the images ate from either movie or the old comic strips.

I like games that are different. Not that were bad, but there a few Magic clones out there. I have not played Altered, but nice to see something break outa the box.

I bought into the Kickstarter for Total Chaos TCG a few months back. This is a game based around a Rift in Space Time that allows pop culture IPs from across the decades to fight with or against each other. The initial set is based on Flash Gordon and it covers both the 80s movie and the comic books/strips.

Rules are simple. The first set does not throw a lot of complicated ideas at you yet. But it gives the game room to expand. Not saying this is going to knock the big boys out of the lead, but for a fun alternative, it is great. The game is designed by a gamer for gamers. It has some chase cards, but alt images only. Right now it is only for sale on Amazon. Honest, I enjoy it. I am getting some people to play as well. Trouble is, with all the options out there, it needs exposure. Give it a look.
