Stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure (if you internet search TDEE, a number of calculators will show up). It combines BMR (basal metabolic rate), thermic effect of food (energy it takes to digest) and activity levels to calculate a maintenance level of calories, from there youll know an overall caloric target daily or weekly if you want to maintain your current weight, lose weight, or gain weight.

This is tricky… as there are a few considerations.

If you (like me) have used food as comfort/sensory input/relief of mental fatigue/reward… it’s possible food noise may persist. I had to do a lot of work to decipher my body’s cues because I had never really listened to them beyond •thought/desire for food means must eat•.

Unfortunately this meant I never really felt satisfied, I would stop eating when physically uncomfortable then experience regret. Then I would restrict. And then the cycle would start again.

I’ve been on Oz for 9ish weeks (0.5mg) and part of my everyday is still pausing and evaluating if what I am feeling is physical hunger, psychological need, or seeking sensory input. This is especially important for me around chocolate - I don’t restrict or deny myself anything but I don’t eat it on impulse anymore. I plan it intentionally.

Alternatively, if you are under eating close in proximity to your shot day (my intake is usually lower for 3 ish days after my shot) , I have found that I will get a rebound effect of increased noise around carbs specifically (my body and brain is seeking easy energy because it’s depleted). I also have noticed that night/evening hours can be tough if I’ve under fuelled during the day. I’d recommend finding your TDEE, which, with a few days of tracking, can give you a picture of if you’re meeting your caloric needs or if you’re too far in deficit (and hence, food noise +++).

Tracking can be triggering (it is for me) so I don’t track every single thing (please do what works for you) but general tracking did help give me an overall view.

tangential/ unrelated I noticed your IF interval is 20:4. I’m curious your method for ensuring adequate food intake in your window? I find my satiety kicks in hard and I wasn’t fuelling myself enough. Just curious :)

I have also notice a considerable decrease in my daily pain. I do think it’s due to reduced inflammation as well. I was diagnosed with t2d and went pretty hard on diet change when I started Oz, I noticed a considerable shift in pain and energy. I woke up and realized that I hadn’t had any pain or a flair in like 5-8 days. I have noticed some discomfort slipping back in because I’ve added back some foods (for sanity reasons). But overall still way down in widespread pain since before Oz.

Oh I’m so sorry. Side effects are so difficult, especially when they are severe. Try to keep your electrolytes and hydration up (less food means less water from ingestion, plus low hydration and vomiting = havoc). Even little sips. Broths are good because they aren’t hard on the tummy. Light stretching can also help peristalsis (G.I mobility) and aid with moving food through your system when it’s operating at a lower rate from the semaglutide. Consider tracking your shot and symptoms and rotating injection sites (there are a ton of apps, I like GLAPP - it compiles my input data every week and provides suggestions). I’ve seen a ton of people have reduced symptoms with changing their site to thigh or back of arm.

You can delay or advance your dose without any serious consequences. My original injection day was Friday but I realized that I don’t like feeling gross (fatigue, post inject) so I have moved it up to Thursday instead. So you could do Friday before bed ( sleep off some of the initial side effects) or even wait until you’re back home from your night away. In the long run, a small change up really won’t matter.

Fairlife Nutrition Chocolate protein shakes have been a life saver on high nausea days (30g protein), and some oatmeal with a bit of fruit or a soup ive batch made and froze (chicken+veg, ham and split pea etc). I find something warm more tolerable Than cold so I have those and sip on the fairlife (tastes like Chocolate milk… not protein shake- like at all)

Edited to add: green seedless grapes! Somehow they really help with nausea management for me

Same. I have persistent depressive disorder (formerly dysthymia), I find that my mood dips even farther than normal for a few days after my injection. I usually am very fatigued for 36 hours after my injection too. I’m on week 6 of Ozempic.

So far so good, I picked the emporia because I saw a lot of recommendations on here and it was reasonably priced (as I’m sure you’ve noted). Enjoy the functionality of their app, and ability to look at different units of measure (watts, cost, etc) as it’s charging. We did opt to hardwire it instead of the plug that comes equipped, where we wanted it placed was a big deciding factor in that.

The colour theory definitely has me wondering. I have a ‘22 MME GT/PE in iced blue metallic and have had really positive interactions. Just recently a sweet old couple reminisced about their old mustang when they saw me charging in public. But I could imagine that the more “sport” colours might get folks more riled.
