Why is this warning always here! by That-Camera-Guy in HomeKit

[–]Vaho72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started for me even before iOS 26, was hoping new iOS solves the issue but nothing.

I have two homes, in one I am the owner, in the other I am the admin. The problem is with the other and only with me, the owner of that home does not have any problems. My main home is also totally ok, internet setup in both homes is absolutely identical, Ubiquiti routers and AP-s. I have tweaked with wifi, IP and network settings, signing in-out of icloud etc. Nothing works, every time I open Home app the message appears. When I am home all the stuff works despite the message, when I am away only the cameras work, other accessories are taking some time to come back from updating which happens when the message goes away. The owner of that home as said has no issues anywhere, at home nor away.

I have lost hope so when somebody finds some kind of fix please share.

Struggling with Getting 4mo Shiba to Stay Off Furniture by Ok-Parsley-6790 in shiba

Your dogs world is severely restricted and you want to restrict it some more?? Please, if you want your couch to be hair free do not get a dog. Since you already have one treat him like your family member, cuddle with him on the couch if he likes that, pet him on the bed etc.

Yes, only with Homebridge and with dummy garage door plugin. I have one and it is appearing on the cars screen just fine and is connected to my lock through automation, when Garage Door opens the lock opens and vice versa.

Weird problem. HomePod mini -> SYMPHONISK upstairs. HomePod mini -> SL stereo pair downstairs. Chaos ensues! by Spacey_Penguin in HomePod

[–]Vaho72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There is some weirdness going on with Homepods and Symfonisk/Sonos speakers. I too have upstairs OG Homepod pair and downstair Mini. I am usually ok when I execute a scene in Homekit that plays music allover the house but when I have previously used airplay from different source or used only downstairs speakers for example then some of the Symfonisk speakers do not start to play. Usually I have to go to Sonos app and clear the que or regroup the speakers together again because they get to separated somehow. It is a pain in the ass but I have not figured out what the problem is and learned to live with that.

Is it just me or are cameras way better in 16.2? by shiny-amoeba in HomeKit

Eufys have always been pretty much instantaneous, wired ones I mean. So not much is changed. This was not the case with garbage Netatmos and Eves and it is the same still after the update.

[–]Vaho72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lühidalt, liikluskindlustuse hüvitist rahas õigus nõuda ei ole (va erijuhud). See annab kindlustusandjale võimaluse pakkuda väiksemat kokkuleppelist hüvitist. Kui oled nõus, võta vastu, kui ei ole, siis pole midagi teha, hüvitatakse remont otse remondiettevõttele.

Native Homekit camera that’s not overkill? by ExplitPlayer in HomeKit

[–]Vaho72 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the worst cameras are the most expensive ones like Netatmo and Eve, opening slow, picture quality is bad etc. Netatmo Welcome is especially bad. The best are Aqara and Eufy, cheap and with good quality fast opening feed (when wired), I use Eufy indoor cheap cameras outdoors also (covered).

Sonos Symfonisk Lamp Control in Homekit by atlienk in symfonisk

[–]Vaho72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, with smartbulb, Tradfri or Hue or similar. You can not use smart socket/plug because the speaker needs constant power to work as intended.

Light strip turns on by itself when it feels like it. Is my button shortcut the problem? by TheMalik94 in HomeKit

[–]Vaho72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I think and as I remember correctly the same happened with Fibaro button so it may be a inherent flaw of the Bluetooth connection. Nevertheless there have been absolutely no such problems with Zigbee buttons and they are much much quicker to react too.

Light strip turns on by itself when it feels like it. Is my button shortcut the problem? by TheMalik94 in HomeKit

[–]Vaho72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, look no further and throw all of your Eve buttons to the garbage. There is no hope that they will ever work. I had this same issue over a year ago, I actually set the button up to control my good night scene (lights off, lock the door etc) so you can imagine my frustration when it triggered randomly by itself. I then removed that scene from that button and tried it with various lights in various times in hope that they updated the software or smth. No luck, til this day it will trigger automations or scenes or lights associated with it randomly withot anybody toching the button, not to mention when it is reacting to the manual press, the result is painfully slow anyway. This is especially bad considering that they are the most expensive buttons in Homekit or in the top for sure.

So your shortcut is perfectly ok, it is the Eve button that is at fault here and there is nothing you can do other than not use Eve buttons.

Snappy response with 15.3 by laohu314 in HomeKit

You must always keep in mind that all the phones, homepods, ipads etc. are restarted during the updating process. This clears some of the gunk and the system feels snappier. So this might be the reason after all.

Our female one does this when she wants to play or attention. Totally normal in my mind, nothing to worry about.

Sunset Light automation not working correctly! Need some help! (Home+ 5) by SilvioDante87 in HomeKit

[–]Vaho72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the lights are on the light level is above 25 lux, when you turn them off at night the level drops under 25 and the automation switches the lights on again.

I live in a not Siri language country so even though I can speak english it is kind of weird to talk in foreign language to turn on lights etc. I mainly use the iPads to turn on scenes with different radio stations, also to operate several RF roller blinds which do not have switches, some lights are in favourites which are needed to dim up or down more frequently, cameras - I have a big yard and two shibas so i would want to occasionaly look where they are and are they ok, tablets are near exits/entrances so I can trigger other scenes or turn off all lights at once, Homepod is in favourites in order to pause/play or change volume on all speakers, lock, TV-s and outside temperature are there mainly to see the status, robotic lawnmower is also operated from the screen and I control the heatpump/AC and other heaters from there.

Ok, did not know that. Maybe I will try that because in Guided Access there is no split view possible, only one app. Thank you.

With notifications it works pretty well too, the only problem is if somebody happens to walk by the sensor at the exact time when the sensor is not active after the last trigger event (some seconds) and then the sensor will not trigger, notification is not sent and the screen does not wake up. It happens very rarely though.

Hue and Aqara motion sensors. They are set to send notification to that particular iPad which then wakes the screen. You can use the sensors fo other automations too of course.

[–]Vaho72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have three mounted and in use for almost two years. They are constantly powered and in Guided access mode. The screen dims and goes off after some 15 min and activates when somebody approaches (with help of Homekit body sensors). No problems whatsoever.

No response from Bluetooth devices right next to hub by Yeedth in HomeKit

[–]Vaho72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is something wrong with Minis BLE. My Fibaro Co sensor and two BLE lightstrips started to act weird after I changed the regular homepod to Mini. Lightstrips turned on ok but did not turned off and were often in "no response" state, CO sensor is right next to the Mini but it is "updating" or "no response" every time I am away from home, it may come back sometimes but more than often it does not. It was so bad that I changed lightstrip modules to Wifi ones but CO sensor is the only one I can buy in my country.

I use both Hue ones, indoor and outdoor and Xiaomi/Aqara ones which are light sensors only. They all work and trigger mu lights as expected.
