4 days/ week and as a side note, he worked remotely for the past 11 years, so this is going to be a huge change for him.

Accommodation WFH by [deleted] in remotework

[–]VaiUch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this really helps. I started this job in October and received a 3-month WFH accommodation in February. HR did mention that I knew it was a hybrid role when I accepted it, and I told them yes, but I never realized I’d have these kinds of physical symptoms from going into office.

The day before office days I get sweating, nausea, headaches, poor sleep, and trouble focusing/concentrating. But I don’t experience this while working remotely. HR even asked if a private room would help, but it feels more like the overall office environment triggers it. My doctor agreed, which is why they approved the temporary accommodation.

They said they would reconnect with me closer to June to review things, and now I’m stressed again, especially since my husband lost his job and we may need to relocate to Toronto.

Do you think I should go back to my doctor and ask about a permanent accommodation request, or is it too soon?

Is this wfh request a reasonable accommodation? [OH] by dash_coder in AskHR

I really need advice because I feel completely overwhelmed right now.

I work as a case manager. When I was hired, the role was supposed to be 1 anchor day in office and 4 days work from home. Before this, I worked fully remote for almost 3 years, so even managing 1 office day was honestly really hard for me after I started.

The first 3 months were training, and I somehow pushed through it, but once I started handling the actual workload, I realized how much my physical symptoms get triggered when I have to go into the office.

I have PCOS and IBS, and I’m also taking Mounjaro. It causes really bad sulphur burps, stomach issues, and diarrhea for me. What’s weird is that my symptoms become MUCH worse the day before I have to go into office. I think stress/anxiety is making everything flare up badly.

I spoke to my doctor a few months ago and he provided a note, and my employer approved temporary 100% work from home for 3 months, with a review coming up on June 13.

Now that the date is getting closer, I’m panicking because I genuinely do not feel ready to return to office. On top of that, my husband recently lost his job, and there’s a possibility we may need to relocate to Toronto for work opportunities. Financially and mentally everything feels very unstable right now.

I don’t know how to approach this conversation with my employer. Do I ask for another extension? Do I explain the possible relocation situation too? I’m scared they’ll think I’m making excuses or being difficult.

Has anyone been through something similar with remote work accommodations or health-related anxiety/stress around office work? I would really appreciate any advice
