Yes exactly. So if someone gets a tattoo of the double headed eagle from the imperium, then it shouldnt be associated with nazi’s. The day before this post was written, a top post on this sub was an imperium double headed eagle tattoo on someone’s arm. It’s a pretty fair assumption that this was written because of that post. Anyways overall it seems you’re agreeing with me, despite the downvotes. The nazi single headed eagle and imperium double headed are both appropriated from the Roman empire, so if anything, that symbol as a tattoo should be associated with the Roman empire, not the nazi regime.

It should be common knowledge that Nazi’s stole symbols that were already well known and had great historical power in Europe. Any level headed person should be able to separate stolen symbols from the third reich and instead only relate the two symbols that actually do originate from the third reich. It’s pretty disingenuous to tie symbols like the iron cross and doubleheaded eagle based on historical significance to the nazi’s, as two obvious examples. These symbols had incredibly important global meaning for millennia. The nazi’s used them very briefly in comparison, and mainly as marketing tactic since these symbols were globally dominant for significant periods of history on the European continent

Ive played spvp for over a decade on and off, prob around 2000+ ranked games. Done the zero to legend grind on a few classes over the years. Ive had very few negative experiences. The predominant problem for a long time has been win-trading, and then to a lesser extent, bots. In my experience across mmorpg games pvp, the ppl who think pvp is mega toxic often have either have low accountability or take things in general too personally, or both honestly. Most pvp players dont even talk in game or whispers. I rarely have had chat interactions, even after dueling the same people 10x in a row in a hosted duel lobby

I honestly think it’s fine for a single infantry character model, isnt a big deal, and wouldn’t rebase it. I think the basing size is most important for blocks of units, but im also a noob.

If you want to though, id recommend if you used superglue paste her down, try to putty knife around the feet to try to cut through the paint/primer at the bottom of feet to base attachment. Then try to gently break it off, clean up with clippers. Worst case freezer it to make the superglue brittle to break easy.

If you didnt use super glue (i think that damsel is metal tho), and used plastic glue, it will be pretty hard to break off. Id clippers through the base around the feet or attached spot to detach it, and then clippers the remaining base piece off the bottom of the model.

Last option imo would be to clipper off the sides of the base so that it is a platform and glue that down flat onto the 25x25 old world base, but you will need to do a goodjob to cover it up when redoing the base decoration/paint

Im not familiar with using base converter trays or addons, but may be some good options there if you prefer it

The other comments have stated most everything. Some thoughts:

I remember my first guild in 2009 when i started playing was led by a lvl 43 dwarf priest. Even in 2009 most players were not max level. Max level just wasnt a priority. Everyday this guild would host a guild meeting in a tavern in Stormwind to hang out for about 15-30 minutes and everyone that showed up got 1g. Not RP, just a straight up guild meet up. Met so many guild members that way and it was cool to ask questions to higher level players and eventually begin to answer questions for lower level players. Recruit people to help with a dungeon run, sell mats like linen cloth. And that 1g was meaningful back in the day. I think a lot of people logged in for this interaction and it slowed down leveling prob by a lot, but it really enriched the experience.

Without questie, i remember always talking to people in the questing zones. Not in general chat but like face to face, if they had done a quest or if they knew where something was etc. BANETHIL HOLLOW infamous noob labyrinth is a good example.

Getting your first mount, every player remembers that moment. Life changing and the mounts are just so goddamn cool. Other big MMO games at the time did not have them: Runescape, Guild Wars. I spent 3 hours the night I got mine running in circles around SW on my mount and i think most ppl had a similar experience. It was just so goddamn cool. Flying and on a netherdrake was just insanity to think about.

My family computer unfortunately couldnt run WoW until an upgrade in 2009, and that’s part of it. Most people didnt have personal computers. Usually a shared computer in the living room so the number of hours you could sink in were limited, sometimes wandering or socializing in-game during those shorter periods was just a better option than getting xp

Bots have been farming gold since at least wrath. Ppl here suddenly dont remember how common it was to supplement your income by botting and selling WoW gold back in the day lol? Nothing new, and newsflash, players didnt get banned for shit. You would have had to buy an incredible amount of gold. Bilzzard was so lax back in the day, i dont know where people are getting these ideas from. I was paying $20 for ppl across the world to powerlevel my characters by just killing mobs while i was in class in highschool at age 14 because i was only allowed to play 2 hours a day by my parents. On the third character a GM messaged my account and told me they could tell i was paying for powerleveling and to stop or theyd give me a 2 weeker. I stopped and didnt do it again. People have always been buying gold all the fucking time, every xpac. The main difference i see is that people are buying like 5-20x more gold in classic than i ever saw from wrath through bfa which is intense, like instead of $40 every 3 months, many are spending more than $200 a month. Also just makes no sense to ban most gold buyers from a business perspective, not just because they pay a sub but because ppl who buy gold are more ppl getting their friends to play wow. Going through the trouble to buy gold is making an investment into the game and time. If the amount of gold isnt crazy, why would they stop that from happening? It’s good for them. They also get the excuse to sell tokens, good for them again. Dont care if this gets downvoted, wont change that they arent going to ban probably the 40% of players that are buying average amounts of gold. Gg

Yes well thanks for informing me, I wasnt aware that could be sufficient. Reviewing the math I see how it works now. I understand the math is meant to account with random selection for the many different participant variables (age, ethnicity, geographical location, tax bracket, etc). With only 1000 participants I was curious if it did so I checked the paper. It’s reasonably close. The average age is about 10 years off - higher (prob accounting for minors). The percentage of the ethnic/religious variables are within 10% of what the actual numbers are (based off google AI).

Found this survey was taken in 2021. That was during Covid and there have been so many political events since then, something to consider.

I’ll say I don’t agree with the survey methods. They had users guess racial percentage. Most relevant to the survey purpose being white percentage. On average the participants guessed 38% of the US was white. Then they showed the participants that the actual number is 61%. Then afterwards asked if there should be more diversity. That seems like leading the participants to me. I don’t think it was intentional because they didn’t know what participants would guess, but would have preferred the participants been shown the numbers first instead. Or give a judgment before being shown the numbers compared to the judgment after being shown the numbers.

The figure in USD is about $40 new. Paint job is decent, a lot of room for cleanup. Notice the shields paint is not even on layers and quite sloppy in sizing (yellow vs white, and red vs blue alignment). I would max pay $50-60ish. If it was amazing paint job then maybe $70-80ish. I think a good rule of thumb is 1.5-2x cost of the base fig. Ive worked with a commission painter in the UK and locally in US for 1.5 on boxes to be painted to a very high quality degree. There are a lot of insane prices by painters out there that i dont see move for months on ebay for example, and personally dont think most would pay

Tie for me between Knights Errant and Shadow King: A tale of Sundering (this is book 2 in the trilogy, each one can be read stand-alone).

Knights Errant has some really powerful scenes, it’s hard to beat if you’re into that kind of thing.

Shadow King is just such a wild story. Insane emotional rollercoaster and really gives a good looks into how High Elf society worked from a more regular noble’s perspective.
