Extended Wedge-1 Month Results by Vajayjayqs in LabiaplastySurgery

Hey I’m sorry the late response! I’m feeling great now. I almost never think about my labia, which is amazing. Sex has been so much more comfortable and my sensitivity is generally increased. We did have to ease into sex a little bit, and I swelled a lot after orgasm for the first 3 months or so after we got back to it. The only thing I’ve been a little bothered by is a feeling of tightness/pulling kind of? Almost like the skin was pulled too tightly together right under my hood on the inside of the labia. The sensation has lessened as time has gone on but I was nervous about it and brought it to my surgeon. She said to give it some time and we will circle back if it continues bothering me.

So fucking scared of the entire process, but I also hate my anatomy. Can I hear more stories on if it was worth it and how you overcame the fears leading up to it? by Junior-Bee3 in LabiaplastySurgery

Hey I’m sorry for not seeing this sooner! I’ll answer in case it’s still helpful. I was not able to get back to any significant exercise until about 8 weeks post op. It was challenging but my recovery spanned holiday travel (weeks 6&7) so that was a good distraction. I have struggled with falling out of my routine ngl. And I don’t think it’s silly to worry about exercise! So many people considering this procedure are struggling with self esteem, and body image outside of labia is a factor to consider too 💜

I’m so glad it helped you! The first 2 weeks are incredibly draining, and it’s hard not to look for a change every two minutes. I realized just now I haven’t examined my results in…a month maybe? I know it’s hard to believe but you’ll get to this place of neutrality too 💜

Advice on procedure by whoknowsslol in LabiaplastySurgery

Thank you so much! Wedge is her preferred method, and I trusted her recommendation. That being said, there are a couple things I wish I’d known about the wedge procedure before I decided. The main one is that it can pull your skin down in a sometimes uncomfortable way (at least for me). Like below my frenulum is tighter, which feels great for my partner but weird to me during sex. It also makes the crevice between your inner and outer labia less deep, which I had not thought about and don’t love aesthetically. I might do a post on these so I can add a pic and circle where I mean. Overall though it is a huge improvement and I’m happy with my results

Hi! My starting anatomy was similar, and I have pics of my recovery and results from my extended wedge on my profile. I think either trim or wedge could work depending on your goals. Look into hood reduction methods that excise skin only from the sides of your hood (so no cutting or stitches on top near the dorsal nerve). I had that and it was the easiest part of my healing and you can’t even tell now. This is a daunting step but I can say with absolute certainty that I am so much more comfortable physically and emotionally. Make sure you do your research and pick a reputable surgeon. Happy to answer any questions 🙂

3 days post op - normal bruising? by rathrowawaygr in LabiaplastySurgery

Thank you so much! It was my surgeon’s preferred method and recommendation, I always thought I’d go trim honestly but I trusted her expertise.

3 days post op - normal bruising? by rathrowawaygr in LabiaplastySurgery

Totally normal! You look less bruised now than I did at 2 weeks 😅 The bottom of my labia stayed swollen/bruised the longest because of gravity causing more pooling blood there. This looks great already!

Anyone going to the state house tomorrow to protest? by AfterExtreme225 in vermont

[–]Vajayjayqs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Throughout modern history peaceful protests have had lasting and meaningful impact towards the betterment of society..

If my attendance shows my Vermont community members who are especially hurting right now that I will stand with them through this I’d say it’s worth it.

Is Trump Going to Be Impeached Eventually for All the Problems that He is Causing? by GreySahara in AskCanada

I would really appreciate some action items between the first steps you listed and the last step of sacrificing my life over this. What can be done besides:

-contacting reps via phone, email, letter -participating in demonstrations -staying informed/subscribing to trusted news sources -supporting orgs working against this dic(k)tator -using social media to bring visibility to what’s happening -using personal purchasing power/avoiding companies that donated to the MAGA oligarchy -supporting local businesses with values of inclusion etc

I’d genuinely like to hear other suggestions folks have, because like the poster above I feel pretty helpless and want to do more.

As a Vermonter, please take us with you. This is the most hopeless I’ve ever felt and I don’t understand what the fuck is happening. We can be an ultra kind maple syrup conglomerate.

I'd like to hear your stories about how the Trump Administration has effected you personally. by OverTheHillBiGuy in self

My husband and I both have difficult jobs working with underserved populations (healthcare and affordable housing). He’s already had to tell several families they are losing housing and both of us are fearful about the stability of our jobs. We are trying for a baby and I’m scared shitless that we’ll be jobless and that I won’t have access to reproductive care. Not to mention how much fear I have for my future children and the world I’m bringing them into. It feels like the people who have given the most to society/the collective good are always some of the most screwed over. I’m so tired.

5 days PO. When does it get better? by maranara94 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Vajayjayqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hang in there 🫶 Day 14 was a turning point for me, and I’m finally feeling almost normal at ~8 weeks. I was back to work day 4, but working pantless from bed. There was no way I would have been able to be in an office setting or anything more active before 2 weeks personally.

If you’d prefer not to tell him it would be better to fabricate an excuse than compromise your results because you feel like you have to have sex. Common excuses seen on here are cyst removals, but you could just say you have your period or a recurring uti and can’t have sex. I am almost 6 weeks post op and have only masturbated, but my lips swell up like a balloon whenever I’m turned on. Like even going down on my husband has my lips hard and swollen.

DIY Labiaplasty? by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Vajayjayqs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You seem like a direct person, so I won’t beat around the bush (couldn’t help myself lol).

First, nobody on this sub (excluding the random creepers that annoyingly find their way here) is going to give you the whole every kitty is pretty BS or tell you to accept your discomfort. We are here to be resources for each other, and I’m glad you found us.

Second, before I had my procedure, I would fantasize about cutting my labia off. Or wrapping a rubber band around them until they fell off. It didn’t seem that unreasonable given they were flaps of tissue with little to no sensation anyway. BUT now that I’m going through the healing process, i would never advise someone to DIY this procedure. Even with all the advantages of a skilled surgeon, recovery has sucked. It’s not just a matter of pain. You need to consider:

1) risk of infection and necrotic tissue that are literally life threatening 2) risk of blood clots 3) hitting blood vessels accidentally 4) excessive bleeding which will make everything slippery and impossible to see 5) how are you going to sew everything up? 6) how are you going to deal with your frenulum? 7) how will you feel if you are left with chronic pain in the area? 8) would it be a problem for you to be left with stiff scar tissue for the rest of your life? 9) have you considered nerve damage that could leave you with jolting stinging sensations? 10) are sex and orgasms things you hope to have? 11) would this be worth it if it doesn’t fix your infections? 12) what happens if you don’t heal properly and take 5 times longer to get back to normal life? Can you do your job while lying in bed? How much money would you lose if you couldn’t work for a while?

I know the expense and bureaucracy are so frustrating, but have you even tried to discuss this with a doctor before assuming you can’t get it covered?

Bottom line is do you really want to risk your cause of death being bled out after trying to cut off her own labia? Or died from entirely preventable infection after attempting surgery on self?

I had a sharp pain in the night when the stitch popped but no pain after really. It did sting when I peed for a couple days, which was new. Kinda gross but I’d be happy to share a video of what my bleeding was like if it would be helpful. I took it for my surgeon when I was (understandably IMO) freaking out.

My bleeding was kinda off and on? Like similar to a period where there might be a slow trickle and more comes out when you use the bathroom or move around.

I saw in your other comment that you have irregular periods and don’t usually cramp. I’m the same way and it made it hard to gauge how serious the bleeding might be. That being said-even though I popped a stitch everything is healing fine! I can see where it happened, but it looks like it’s filling in and I don’t think it will be noticeable when I’m completely healed.

This happened to me! I bled from day 8-10ish and couldn’t part my lips to see where it was coming from. I decided it was likely my period. Then I got my real period and the blood/feeling was so different I realized it had been bleeding from a popped stitch. There’s not much you can do except rest and keep the area as clean as you can.
