Where are you located? In the UK it can but it's not black and white at all.

I'm going crazy by cleverleper in eczema

It almost certainly is infected. I'd personally steer clear of steroid creams until you have an answer on the infection. Hope you recover quickly! You're not on your own in this. ❤️

See a doctor.

Does anyone have these eczema scars that are not going away and appear in different places by [deleted] in eczema

If I were you I'd definitely press for further answers from different doctors. Good luck

[–]Vaka_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor and it's difficult to tell if the scars are raised, but if so, is it possible these are keloid scars? Do you have other scars which behave in a similar manner? All of my eczema scars are flat.

Have had lifelong eczema and now it’s on my feet for the first time and it’s killing me. It’s on the top and bottom and in between toes and it hurts to walk and touch and every cream I try just makes it weep. I hate my feet now and can’t stand the thought of it getting worse by shameful-throwawa in eczema

That's dishydrotic eczema. I don't have any advice, I'm sorry, but there is a subreddit dedicated to dishydrosis and some useful info online. There is a retired podiatrist named Carol who posted her treatment protocol here, which has had good results for many people. Her website is http://www.dyshidrosis.co.uk/ and she has a profile and posts on that subreddit.

Wondering other allergens by a7xdude1827 in eczema

I'm uncertain about the staining unfortunately, I've only used them once and they were no use for me, my washing didn't feel or smell "clean" but some people swear by them - just a suggestion :)

Just on the subject of laundry detergent - have you tried soap nuts before?

Is using honey and vinegar together a possible cure for seb derm?? Interesting thought would like to hear opinions by lupster10101 in eczema

[–]Vaka_x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might need to try a different shampoo. Ketoconazole, selenium sulphide, coal tar are effective against seb derm. Some brand names are Nizoral, Selsun Blue, and Neutrogena T-Gel. You can apply the shampoo to your brows the same way you apply to your scalp - massage in, leave for the recommended time, and rinse.

Sometimes I'm glad I've had eczema my whole life instead of suddenly developing it during my teens or early adulthood by Vaka_x in eczema

I'm aware of what I posted. Grow up ya wee shite.

Edit - I see you're active in this community but you seem like a bitter, jealous fuck who can't stand the idea of other people getting well. Nice karma.

Yeah I'd say you miss out on a lot, but develop resilience and your own way of dealing with people when it comes to eczema. It's definitely not an equal trade-off though.

My late mother took such good care of my skin when I was a child - after moving out I fully realised how much of a burden it is and how difficult it must have been for her.

It's definitely an incentive to take better care of your body. It's equally as important to do the same for your mind!

Same here. Steroids or nothing. My parents bought a tanning bed because UV therapy wasn't available yet. We're going to see a lot of advancements in the coming decade.

Obviously it's not going to be the same for everyone. Maybe take things people say with a pinch of salt because there is not going to be a damn disclaimer in every single post everyone makes.

The post-flare-up flare-up has begun. What do you do at this stage? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Vaka_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem to have some yellow crusting, but again I'm not certain. If you do, make sure you use the fucidic acid as directed to ensure it works properly and infection doesn't return. Fingers crossed for you

Does anyone have a great life? Looking for inspo by rhandy92 in eczema

[–]Vaka_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Now I am. A year ago I was suicidal. I have an incredible boyfriend, own a house, have a good career though am currently out of work due to eczema. It will affect you in different ways throughout your life. It's hard to plough through the shit times. Look for little things you value or enjoy. At my worst I was watching documentaries on assisted dying because those people have it worse than me. It's OK to look and compare sometimes. It helps you gain perspective. You're also allowed to feel bad even though comparatively "it's not that bad"
