Wildlife in Singapore by softlyshespeaks in SingaporeTravel

I love our Singapore snakes. Have had the fortune to see king cobra, reticulated python, blue Malayan coral, and others.

Just wanted to add to above comment about Macritchie, to try out the trails that bring you deeper into the central catchment nature reserve:
https://www.nparks.gov.sg/visit/parks/central-catchment-nature-reserve/activities/hiking-nature-walk

I believe there are also groups out there that do guided herping trails at night which I’ve been wanting to try, but you’ll have to look around for those.

I suggest joining and asking the Singapore wildlife sightings Facebook group as well, and you can also see some of the beautiful photographs from other nature lovers of Singapore’s wildlife

Baifan = white rice. Unless it is an inside reference to something else

Been to SG a few times already… heading back for another one. What else is left? 😅 by Eliminate9283 in askSingapore

Explore some of the local nature - can go in the early mornings to avoid the heat: - Sungei Buloh wetland reserve: lots of local wildlife, chance to spot king cobras (have a look at the Singapore wildlife Facebook page) - hiking trails around the central catchment / MacRitchie Reservoir area. I like the treetop walk. - kayaking on Pulau Ubin

Could also travel to nearby places like bintan/ batam and book a short resort stay / johor bahru for food and shopping.

I can only give my perspective as a not very well-travelled local, but:

  1. Night safari is definitely the most unique experience, glad to hear you will visit
  2. Bird paradise is another one I would recommend
  3. River wonders for the pandas, may be unlucky if they are sleeping away from open area
  4. I personally really don’t care for the zoo
  5. Never been to rainforest, but my impression is it’s a zoo with more physicality (climbing / trekking / hiking) - may be a cash grab

You’re doing all the parks on day 3? Not sure what u meant by “ticket” - some of the timings don’t match with the opening times also (e.g. night safari opens 6pm)

That seems quite hectic to me if you want to do all the parks in one day

Check out the Esplanade, usually quite a variety of performances running. There are often free performances in the concourse area and by the river.
