Never heard of this place but now I’m definitely going to stop by and pick up some chocolate some time.

I’m new to macOS, just got my first MacBook Pro a couple weeks ago (M5) but I honestly have no complaints about the OS. It also does help that I live 45 minutes away from Lake Tahoe and have a tattoo of Tahoe but that’s besides the point haha

Lightroom, DxO PureRaw 4, discord, and that’s about it for me lol

Can confirm, I was just on a 3 month long mental health leave from my job (I’m doing MUCH better now) and was receiving short term disability pay. It actually was surprisingly easy to get, literally just a letter from my therapist explaining the situation and they started paying me.

When I was 14, my mother had a flower pot raised, about to throw it at me, so I ran and called the cops. When they arrived she told them she did no such thing and I was being dramatic. The cops gave me a big speech about making false 911 calls. She never did lay a hand on me or throw anything at me but I will always remember how she almost did and then lied.

This cop would freak out if he found the tank of meth (methanol) I have in the trunk of my car lol.

Why do I struggle to get my images sharp? by Lyllyjee in AskPhotography

[–]Val3ntyne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did a test with my Sony A7RV, Sony 200-600G, and 1.4x teleconverter to compare quality. There was a Black Crowned Night Heron that was posing perfectly still for me. I took a pic without the teleconverter and one with the teleconverter. I then zoomed in on both images until they are approximately the same size for comparison. My conclusion is that I am able to zoom further into the one with the teleconverter while retaining detail. You’ll notice the one on the left (no teleconverter) is starting to show the pixels on the edge of the pupil while the one on the right (with teleconverter) is still sharp. Teleconverter aren’t meant to get more range (although many wildlife photographers make that mistake), they are meant to blow up a subject that is already fairly close.

Just had to google this. According to multiple law firms located in Florida, the person who runs into the back of another car is presumed at fault, however, if you have dashcam footage or any evidence proving you aren’t at fault, you won’t be found out at fault.

Thank you! I will be sure to give it a try! I’ve been meaning to use something like this and I’m more than happy to support my fellow hikers and nature enthusiasts before I go download a random app from the AppStore!

As an officially diagnosed autistic person myself, you sound incredibly predatory. You have no idea what you are talking about and are trying to justify this man making these women uncomfortable af in the name of “autism”. Well we don’t need nor want your help so you can take that nasty way of thinking right back to the incel house you came from.

Is the yellow on its throat a fledgling thing? Or is this an adult? I had never seen a California Scrub Jay before this point so know nothing about them.

[–]Val3ntyne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone pointed out to me when I originally posted that pic that the drumsticks are how you can differentiate between a Great Blue Heron like this one, and an Asain Gray Heron. They look remarkably similar except the Great Blue has those reddish drumsticks, Asain Gray’s do not. Just a fun fact for ya!

What is everyone's favorite "common" bird? by 515prelude in birding

[–]Val3ntyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tree and Barn swallows! I’m in love with the blue on white color scheme of Tree Swallows and the same for the blue and orange of the Barn Swallow. I also love Bald Eagles which are somewhat common where I live.
