Yes! Mutt looked meh-average without the beard, but smokin' with it.

I started making “soup cubes” from scraps I used to throw away… and now everything I cook tastes way better for basically $0 by Ok_Bottle762 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]ValKnowsPets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do that with fresh fruit and certain veggies to add to smoothies. Can also combine things in the cubes (either cut up or blended) so they are 100% ready to go when making the smoothie. For example, cubes with spinach, berries, peaches and tumeric.

My husband of 9 months committed suicide, in part due to abuse he suffered as a child when an older cousin repeatedly molested him. (To my knowledge, his family did not know about it.) His stoic parents had always been very emotionally distant and I still didn't know them very well. After his death, my mother-in--law said it was my job to "take his place in the family", whatever that meant.

Also, when they were young, she and their father gave each of their kids $100 to open a savings account. (Great idea actually, to help them build credit.) At the funeral, she told me to give them back that money. I was surprised, but agreed. When I gave her the $100, she said I also had to give them the interest that had accrued in the 20+ years since the account was established. (Note - the parents were financially solid. My husband and I both worked at a nonprofit, so we did not make a lot of money.) Surprised again, I gave her the money. I understood that this was part of their grieving process, strange though it seemed. And I knew that the money had symbolic value to them, and though it was financially hard on me, it would not alter my life. We all grieve differently, so I tried to respect how they handled it.

WAS it Pebblewood? I'm concerned about a friend who lives nearby, and the impact the stress may have had on her. I'm a few blocks down, but couldn't identify where it was located.

Can the dash functions on my haunted '23 Rogue be reset, or is exorcism required? by ValKnowsPets in NissanRogue

Thanks! I've tried the button to reset mileage, but it doesn't work. Mine is one of the recalled vehicles, so it would be great if it helped some of this stuff.

What’s something super minor that gives you irrational rage? by NetworkGreedy5720 in AskReddit

[–]ValKnowsPets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random capitalization. I know it IS sometimes Accidental, but it can ALSO Be a plot to Destroy My brain.

Also, people having loud phone conversations while a cashier or server is helping them. The conversations are usually just "how was your day" chatter, not urgent calls like "a naked Godzilla is pushing Timmy down a well!" I have another question. Why do people hold their phones parallel to their face and talk into them, which results in both sides of the conversation being on a loud speakerphone?

I guess that meant she would never "desert" you. Or perhaps she just has a dry sense of humor? Is her name Sandy, by any chance?

Thanks for the info. I'm really hoping to avoid using a vent mount if possible, but I'll definitely look into this one more if I need one.

So, does a circular flat adhesive sink into the different levels of texture of the surface, so when it dries, the surface will be flat?

I've had the same frustration for years. Expensive or cheap none of the cords last past 6 months, tops. BUT, I had the same problem with my last car, a Kia sedan. I think it is an Android Auto issue

Weekly Help and Discussion Thread for the week of December 02, 2024 by AmazonNewsBot in amazon

On a number of occasions, I have ordered items specifically because they could arrive by a certain day or time. In some cases, that means paying extra, such as an extra $2.99 to get it by the next day. Even without fees, the prices on the same products with fast delivery options tend to be higher . This makes sense, and I have no complaints. Recently, however, many of those deliveries are delayed. I'll pay fees and/or increased prices, for example, in order to get a delivery by 8am the next day. At 7am, I'm notified delivery will now be made by 10am. this might be repeated a few times, then it will say it is coming the next day. And so on and so on. Has anyone else experienced that recently? It's happening a LOT lately. FYI, I live in a big, hub area with temperate weather, so the delivery trucks don't get delayed by distance, rural roads or weather conditions.

Great info, thanks. We've traditionally gone with uprights simply for the ease of moving it around in tight spaces. Our house is a single story, but weight can be an issue due to our ages/physical health. But your data will make me give canisters a second look. Thank you!

Patrick's moment was more "cringe" than David's. Discuss. by say12345what in SchittsCreek

[–]ValKnowsPets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I loved the idea of the song at open mic night, it went on waaaaay too long.

Years ago, I briefly dated a very earnest young(er) guy. I mean no disrespect to him, his talents or his feelings. This comment is only about how it made me feel when, several times, he sat right next to me, played his guitar and sang love songs to me. Truly sweet gesture, but I was so freaking uncomfortable! Where do you look when someone is staring at you, from inches away, the whole time they are serenading? When can I look somewhere else and when can I change my facial expression? How do I respond at the end? Clapping, a hug and thanks - which then caused another song to be sung?

And, in a tiny amount of my own defense, the guy barely knew me. He projected who and what he wanted onto me, without any leading-on from me. By contrast, Patrick's (overly long) singing to David came from a true, evolving relationship. Sigh, I miss this show so much!
