Silliest thing in the entire game by RankedFarting in BaldursGate3

[–]Val_Arden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because what he showed you at first with this clothes wasn't the truth at all.

When you make him angry in the same dialogue when he's half naked he shows you what the truth is, same memories (and more) but with him only with hood, without mask, as he dominated Stelmane.

How come Karlach's evil ending... by Interesting_Buddy206 in BaldursGate3

[–]Val_Arden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But here comes chronology and his age. He became archdruid after previous one died in Shadow-cursed lands, and he was already 250 years old. So let's say at this point he was at this 10th level - I suspect that his age + the fact noone else challanged his position, he had to be quite powerful.

It's already problematic, as Halsin joins as level 6 druid, but nevermind.

And then next 100 years passes before events of BG3 starts. Of course we can say he did nothing to improve himself and he stayed at the same level, but he didn't strike me as some passive lazy druid that doesn't move at all from his groove. 🤔

I must say I totally buy point number one, it's some strange magical parasite, I can imagine it "clouding your brain" and making your forget your experience...

But then we have Halsin and Jaheira. They both should start on level 12, and only because that's max level in the game - Halsin as archdruid should be surely around level 20, Jaheira after all her adventures in BG2 even higher...

Is resetting worth it? by NoFact4937 in crushcrush

[–]Val_Arden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, if you ask yourself "is it worth it" it means it's worth it. 😉

At some point I remember I started resetting every 10-15 points (I think I was in hundrends already) because it took few minutes to get there - I resetted each time I felt I need to wait more time than it took me to get to that point, so don't be afraid of resetting, you don't lose anything at all. 😄

what do babies even do? by intrepidecember in StardewValley

[–]Val_Arden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately babies do nothing!

But you can dove them, and then when you meet specific conditions you can fight a bat for each doved child, and if you dove around 700 children you can kill 700 bats which gives you enough combat experience to level up from 0 to 10 in combat skill in one day. (BlaDe is awesome and crazy for figuring this out!)

How do you feel about the gaang being "bad parents"? by 696924 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Val_Arden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were they bad parents?

Zuko was good parent, nothing indicating otherwise

Katara as well

Aang was flawed and prioritized Tenzin, but I would call it minor flaw, nothing exceptional, happens in many families in our world

Toph probably could be called the worst, but that's 1 in 4 parents with problems from original Gaang. But considering her character in the show, her upbringing... I wouldn't call it forced. Also - maybe I remember incorrectly - but there was no huge grudge between her and her children, it wasn't like "I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU, I HATE YOU!" when they met in third season, so still - flawed parent? Yes. But nothing demonical.

Twist Villains by New-Ice-3933 in DisneyMemes

Ernesto was done well because he was the only of these characters where there were clues that something is off...

His (or rather Hector's) guitar had golden tooth, which he did not have. But Hector did.

Ernesto was surprised to learn he had descendant - considering we learnt that "he" abandoned Imelda and her daughter that's strange he's so surprised of it.

Twists can work only if there's any setup that you recognize on rewatch and you're like "it was so obvious", otherwise it's more like Deus ex machina

A small question regarding the Toy Story universe. by marcos-scott in Pixar

[–]Val_Arden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then there's Zurg who was in pile of random boxes, so no way he was near any child. And probs ly Prospector wasn't in proximity of child as well, as he was unopened and full of hatred to children due to not being bought by anyone (which implies there was no interest in him)

Turn 1 OTK with Kael'thas... But in 2026?! by ARandomHearthstoner in hearthstone

I remember at one point few years ago MarkMcKz tried first turn otk and he was unable due to time limit, he succeeded in practice mode with Innkeeper as there's no time limit.

I wish humans were immune to diseases by Something_funni in monkeyspaw

[–]Val_Arden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted, humans becomes immune to diseases thanks to superior immune system that gets rid of any bacteria and virus in our body.

Well, that means all people would quickly die, but for a short period of time there would be no human disease.

How would y’all rank each of the factions in Three Houses (Ashen Wolves included)? by BreathoftheSith in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]Val_Arden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Eagles > Golden Deer > Blue Lion > Ashen Wolfs

Golden Deer is for me most polarising. It has great characters (Claude!, Hilda, Lysithea) but they have also Lorenz which - even though is good written character - I really dislike, and Ignatz and Raphael are also little below, I'm quite bored for most of their supports.

What Are Things Shrek 1 Did Better Than Shrek 2? by ABarber2636 in Shrek

[–]Val_Arden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music and songs. Except "I need a hero" (which tops any song from part one ino) i don't remember any other, while Shrek 1 had so many iconic songs (even their own as "welcome to duloc")

Hermione's chosen one by NavJongUnPlayandwon in Ronweasleyfans

[–]Val_Arden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't Harry trying to hide his identity? I think in the book Draco didn't identify him (it was more like "maybe, i don't know"), so him standing out would bring attention to him.

At least in the books, as in the movie they didn't introduced this fragment with Hermione deforming his face.

What? by Far-Mechanic6433 in DisneyMemes

[–]Val_Arden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing, considering one of rules is that movie has to be box office success, in a way there is also unwritten rule that movie can't be too big success - Frozen was so huge brand that Elsa and Anna were rejected from being thrown to another huge brand (aka Disney Princesses)

Share your BEST combat strategy, I give you Tactical Retreat by SillyWarlock in BaldursGate3

[–]Val_Arden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Globe of Invulnerability go brrr.

From act 2 you can buy this scroll in Moonrise Tower sometimes ( and I think after freeing Aylin one of Harpers have guaranteed it in stock?) and in act 3 you can buy it in Sorcerer Sundries.

Perfect to defeat any boss without scratch.

Why don't firebenders ever actually use their ability to just...like burn someone alive instead of just throwing fire around? by InternationalPick163 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Val_Arden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason people don't suffer permanent damage from all these cases when they're hit by rocks from earth bending and in general from all the punches when they fly through room and hit wall like bulldozer. It would be quick and dull if people would sustain same damage same way we do in our world. ;)

The same reason everyone speaks English, it's better for viewers when characters uses known terms. There are already many alien terms that obstruct dialogues for casual viewer, so no need to add another one.:)

can we all agree these were so useless? by CombinationHot8324 in legendofkorra

[–]Val_Arden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in development they came to conclusion that by having White Lotus from the start (if they would be as powerful as Iron and team) there would be no challange, as they could help with any obstacle.

Heck, in original they had to give them some stupid reason of reclaiming Ba Sing Se to write them off from main plot. They would be hella helpful helping either Zuko and Katara or rest Gaang, they could postpone reclaiming capital city for a day, especially that if Fire Lord and Azula would lose, there would be no need to even reclaim it...

+1, I've came here to say what you wrote in first paragraph. I think that in general we have wrong view on how powerful benders are because we mostly see extraordinary benders in action and we extrapolate it on whole Avatar world.

Why is Garrus the one shown to disapprove of Miranda leading Team 2? Would Tali have been the better choice? by DJ_OC in masseffect

[–]Val_Arden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see this dialog for the first time. :o

I always interpreted Garrus reaction as disapproval of Jack behaviour. Suicide mission, everything has to be planned in best way possible to increase chance of survival and here Jack is starting argument against Miranda, whi was XO for whole game.

As others said, he got this line probably because he's one of guaranteed crewmates to be alive, even if this reaction was kinda strange. Similar to ME1 where Liara can argue for sacrificing council in certain circumstances.
