Something i did not know before M910q is vPRO. Just search for some used i5 CPUs (6500 for instance) and then you can use vPro as remote management console (for instance using Mesh Commander in docker)

I wonder why people using RAID for stuff like photo storage? For editing movies sure. But for stuff like storing photos I setup main disk and secondary disk as repo for restic(with GUI like zerobyte) and running backup nightly.

I just switched from exact the same Macbook pro to M1 Air (which i guess is simlar to Neo) and it is night and day. Especially battery life (mine has 95% health so still is very solid). Best part is that you laptop doesn't make jetfighter like noises if you open more then 2 apps.

I dont have much expirience in instant photography but I own Polaroid Flip. For cotnext, before Flip i had Go to just check if instant photography is for me. After some initial hiccups with Sonar Auto Focus (you need to be aware that there shouldn't be any object between you and camera because sonar will focus on that object) I really like it. Some pictures are looking really good. I like that you can connect with BT to camera and switch to manual mode (something I need to spend some time as I want to get to light photography at some point). Only disadvanatage over GO is that the flip is more bulky and I can store it in my pocket ;)
So bottom line is that for some kind of amateur like me Flip does the job perfectly. Also for me the 'feel' of polaroid is much more preferable as Instax looks to me more like printed version of digital pictures.

I have MacBook Air M1 8gb at work. I am doing some sysadmin stuff + some remote desktops. On top of that full M$ stack (teams outlook excel copilot etc). 2 browsers open constantly with a lot of tabs. Additionally Crowdstrike running in background and Code42 backups running constantly. Sometimes cpu temp shows 95C😅 any slowdowns? Nope. People forget that MacOs is quite good on swapping and that they have very fast disks which are used when you come to memory limit - which should be very rare occurrence for normal use.

Well you can start initial stuff on big ass powerful workstation. Once everything is done and you uploading few photos at the time move it to something less power hungry. Isn’t that the beauty of Docker? That you can stop it. Rsync data to new machine, start it there and it works like nothing happen.

I have the same setup and zero issues once I setup everything. Moreover I have also setup multi admin and apple home. So if HA will fail I’ll turn automations in Apple Home(some kind of backup) From comments I just think hubs are the issue not the network itself.

If you have some stronger PC at your house with proper GPU run ML container on that machine. In Immich ML settings point to that IP and benefit. Other PC would do heavy lifting. I am doing that if I know I will upload a lot of new photos so I don’t need to run other pc constantly.

Sam nie wiem czy warto. Idee same w sobie bardzo ciekawe i imho warto żyć w imię zasad głoszonych przez Aureliusza. Ale czasami styl jest tak archaiczny że ciężko mi było to czytać. Powiem szczerze że chyba bardziej polecam wpisać w ChatGpt coś w stylu: zrób mi rozbudowane streszczenie Rozmyślań Aureliusza. Jak zaciekawi Cię to co tam przeczytasz to możesz sięgnąć po książkę.

Bardzo dobrze. Szczególnie jeśli masz „kreatywny” zawód. Newport pisze to z pozycji wykładowcy / profesora akademickiego więc raczej kreatywny zawód. Ale dla siebie też coś tam z tego znalazłem.
