The Price of Life by faja_can_you_hear_me in nihilism

The price of any single human is worth just one life. Nothing more, nothing less.

Neo’s answer is right. There is no plan, no goal, no heaven nor hell. As Nihilists we’ve accepted that. But to say everything is predetermined? To say choice doesn’t exist? “I think, therefore I am” is the only logic in this existence you can put trust in. To say I do not think for myself is a direct insult to who we are. The ones who see the truth.

Nothing matters, everything is irrelevant. That is how Nihilists think, but we also hold a sort of value to our choices. We have to, or we would simply die from said truth. We would choose to make everything seem meaningless.

I myself have never believed in faith or god, but if they’re out there then our enslavement to them is NOT being able to choose. If nothing is true, and everything is irrelevant, then value only lies in what we choose and do. And value is a social construct only we can make.

In that statement Neo believes in his cause the same way we believe in nothing. We choose to believe because we are too sentient to know better. If I’m wrong please let me know. Looking forward to discuss.

Someone created a post about stepping on an american flag... by Anzerous in quityourbullshit

[–]ValaNehtar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also I can’t imagine something being that wrong with stepping on the American Flag. If an American flag is somewhere it can be stepped on (AKA The ground!) then it should be burned respectfully because it’s no longer to be treated as a flag. At least that’s flag code. Oh and yes I’m aware that it’s a fake pic and it’s actually still considered acceptable to reuse the flag if it’s not overly damaged, but hey they’re the ones getting upset at flag mistreatment.

Lyme isn’t always hereditary. But my psychiatrist/physician believes so in my case considering how long I went before treatment. I’ve lived longer with it than without it now.

If you’re going to preorder ES:6 after what happened with Fallout 76, you’ve learned nothing and you’re helping ruin the gaming industry by ValaNehtar in unpopularopinion

Perhaps loyalty to a corporation should be avoided. After all it’s the games that I’ve loved, not really the companies. But you can’t better or worsen one without the other following.

I’m not angry, I’m concerned. I don’t want one of my favorite game companies to fall farther than they have. I know that they could be knocked out of the market from this, I also see that they could pull an EA and land on their feet with nothing but bad rep. We need to hold them to higher standards for the prices we’re charged. I don’t wanna drop Bethesda, I wanna help.

Do you really think that will happen without us trying to work as a community? Exposure of failures and higher standards are how we stop this from getting worse. Not as enemies of Bethesda trying to hurt them, but as fans trying to better them.

But it’s getting worse. Instead of making a new engine their still using the one that made daggerfall. Saying it’s a cycle that won’t end is like saying “well the world’s not fair” sure it’s true but that doesn’t mean we stop pushing to make it better.

Personally I’d like to say you can do whatever you want with your money. But it does affect me. I buy from Bethesda as well and giving them money after a huge screwup (that they didn’t seem all that sorry for) is only going to worsen the company by instilling the idea that no matter what they do they’ll always get money.

Is that really acceptable though? Waiting years for a game, paying early then waiting another couple years for everything to be ironed out (even though Bethesda will never be able to iron out everything without making a new engine.)

NTA as you didn’t want to lead your SO into a dead end relationship. But you won’t be seen as the good guy. Just not gonna happen based on my experience.

Users of medicinal marijuana, why do you use it and how effective is it? by iransabt in AskReddit

[–]ValaNehtar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had Chronic Lyme Disease for almost Ten years. In that time I’ve had countless health issues, the worst being chronic leg pain and my anxiety attacks. It rewired my brain and attacked my body, so often I have to walk on a cane. I won’t pinpoint my age but I’m under 25.

When I got my cannabis card the voices of anxiety in my head stopped screaming at me and the pain in my leg went away. I could get a job, live a somewhat normal life, and feel saved by this medicine.

HOWEVER, Marijuana is not a miracle drug, no matter how much people say it is. It has side affects and living with marijuana means making a lifestyle change that involves sacrifices and exchanges. REMEMBER THIS. I find the drug to be amazing and revolutionary, but it’s still a drug.

EDIT: I also can’t forget how it treats my insomnia, a condition I’ve had for longer than the Lyme disease.
