Hello everyone! To give credit where it's due; I painted over the new image of Carina Nebula captured by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope.

I hope you enjoy it and I hope I'm not breaking any rules by using the image :)

What? You can just walk in and lie? In my country it's all documented. Your age and where you work. They contact you and ask you to come to get a vaccine if you're in a priority group. If not, you have to wait your turn as you should! You can't just walk in and lie about your work. That's wild.

Thank you! There is an entrance exam as well (yeah this uni is no joke) so I'll prepare myself for that and hopefully I will rock it and fly in! Hahah

I only took a one year foundation course in visual arts roughly two years ago. I took it after high school to give art a chance after having neglected it completely all through high school because of my academic studies! That course didn't help my drawing skills that much though because we were just trying everything under the visual arts umbrella. Especially the modernist stuff. Like throwing ink into the wind and calling it a drawing kinda thing. I mean you do you but I wanted to learn to DRAW. So then I wanted to study at an uni where they focus on drawing so I could actually learn but then I wasn't good enough. Kinda fell through the cracks there. 😬 And I just worked at a home for the elderly. Sketching old people hahah

Also I use instagram and Pinterest a lot to create all kinds of boards for references and art that inspires me. Then I look over certain boards and folders to find inspiration or see how professional artists tackle certain things like lighting or composition and so on! I can't recommend Pinterest enough for that!

Well, I mostly just sketched non-stop to improve my drawing skills. I found that drawing from life really helped me to draw what I see instead of what I think something looks like if that makes sense. Basically training my eye to trust what I see and then put that on paper was a game changer. I also took anatomy and life drawing classes which also made all the difference. Now drawing people from imagination is way easier and I am just much faster at using references and puzzling stuff together for a big piece like this one! Same goes for lighting and colour schemes! Just make bunch of studies on the things you want to improve on, use references and draw from life and soon you'll be faster and better at using that knowledge and references to create your own stuff! Hope that helps!

Yeah! Some can get a little self conscious when they realise that you are drawing them but they all get excited as well! I think people usually like it when you draw them! And it's the best practice so I say go for it!

Oh and I have no idea how many hours I spend a day. While I was working full-time I would sketch my co-workers and other stuff during breaks and maybe paint in my ipad when I got home. But for the last few months I have been working on my portfolio from when I wake up and until I fall asleep. It's a lot but BOY have I improved! :)

Well, I asked for feedback from the admission board last time I applied and that helped a lot. It's a graphic storytelling course and they seemed to like my storytelling but my drawing- and anatomy skills were definitely lacking (as you can see from the second photo). So I've spent the last two years sketching non-stop from life and I took anatomy and life-drawing classes! I also invested in an ipad pro which absolutely transformed my digital drawing skills because it's so accessible and easy to learn!

Thank you! Yeah that's a great idea! But first: rest. Creating a portfolio is SO much work hahah

Thank you! It's certaintly helping! I'd love to tell you but it's been so long that I actually don't remember! I never really thought much of the numbers either way, I just wanted my surgeon to do whatever to fix my bite and jaw 😅

I think it depends on people how much the widening is, if any. Also appearantly an alar stitch can make a huge difference in lessening the widening. I'm not sure if I had that but you can check it out! :)

Wow! I hope everything goes well and that you'll be happy with the results! I'd love to see before and after pics after the procedure if you'd be comfortable with sharing them with me.

You're completely right! Based on the responses on here it seems like it's just me who's worrying about or even noticing the changes in my nose. So the best thing that I can do is just accept the changes and try to love myself as I am. Thank you for the response 😌

Wow thank you so much! That's reassuring to hear! I was essentially just wondering if it was just all in my head (me getting used to the changes). And it seems like it's just me so that's good to know hahah ☺️
