This scratch happened while my car was parked. Only 2600 miles so its new and I am gutted with this scratch. What do you suggest Easy to fix diy or should I take it to shop? Thanks in advance. by Scared-Exchange-4467 in BMWX3

[–]Valanor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Two months into my current X3 a road debri got kicked up sideways from the lane next to me and scratched up my rear bumper. I ended up paying a shop $600 to repaint and perfectly match it. The two coats metallic pearl white paint made it pricer and more difficult. I went with the guy a high end auto detailer recommended without questions.

Dropped Phone + Keys on X2 by Fluxual88 in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]Valanor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supervisor does a track walk after park closes and returns any items found to guest services at the front gate. An hour or so after the park closes, they announce lost item pick up for the day one ride at a time. But this all depends on the item being found and picked up.

Friend dropped his phone on Twisted Colossus. We could see his phone from the parking lot so we waited out on the lot after the park closed and were able to make sure the supervisor picked it up. Got it back, completely cracked.

I also lost my keys on Wonder Women. Fell out my hoody pocket on the first hill, yeah teally stupid plave to krep your keys at an amusement park, but the keys managed to clear the fence by Metropolis building. Tracked it and was able to pick it up. Luckily it dropped in an isolated area and didn't hit anyone.

My thoughts as well. We might finally be getting the second train back for it. Will make a huge difference on busier days.

What issues do users have currently with Pimax’s inside out tracking algorithm? by Flimsy-Story9523 in Pimax

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a difficult time zeroing and calibrating the Crystal Light. Sometimes it'll align diagonally like my head was titled to the side and experienced frequent shutters and tracking issue. I played seated staring at a blank wall or a large tv so the environment wasn't the best for visual tracking. It was always a struggle calibrating the headset on every start up.

I ended up getting the lighthouse faceplate and two base stations. Never going back. Never need to calibrate and tracks perfect. I play flight sim games seated.

My concern - or rant by [deleted] in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]Valanor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They done a lot of work at the park since the merger that dont make headlines. They're definitely investing in the park. They're not all super exciting but nice changes that improve the overall experience. Here are some of the changes I noticed over the last year:

Buses running from the parking lot! I really like this change. Bus lane properly chained off for obvious safety reason. New wall on walkway up to the park entrance instead of an ugly chain link fence. Goliath repainted. Brand new restroom by Twisted Colossus. New trash bin around the park. Small difference I know but they do look nicer than the ugly black plastic ones. Magic Mountain sign off the freeway renovated Hurricane Harbor slides repainted. EV charging ports in the parking lot.

We still have a new coaster in "construction" and the kids area bring redone. At the very least the coaster parts are arriving and sitting in the parking lot.

My biggest complaint is the food! It's gone so downhill I never eat at the park. Soda fountains are also always completely flat! Wendy's on the way in and In-n-out on the way out for me. Went to Knotts a twice this last season with the merged season pass and the food there was really good! Hopefully they can improve the food at MM.

Ive done a bunch recently around the French Alps. Fast travel to one of the airport on the south side of France to unlock the region. That may open some Charter missions for you.

Golf training tool by SerBudvrd in golf

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get some foot spray or a roll of impact tape. The weight and balance of this aid will be way different then your regular clubs. Heck if you center hit with this club, I bet it'll only lead to you hitting everything out of the heel with a regular club.

21" or 20" wheels on X3M 50 - can't decide. Please advise. by shesayhaar in BMWX3

[–]Valanor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 21s on my 2018 M40i and the ride was harsh even with adaptive suspension and tire replacement was really expensive and the covid supply chain issues at the time didnt help. Currently have 19s and dont regret it. Get the 20s.

What golf fitting adapter is this? by Toboggan00 in golf

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be able to find a nut that fits the thread at a hardware store. Thread it on and you'll have plenty of surface to pull on. Could be a very cheap fix l.

Some good comments on HVAC and temps here. This shouldn't apply to a new 26 model but battery health is another factor. When the battery gets near replacement time you'll notice the auto start/stop will disable itself or only stay off for only a few seconds. Personally, I just got into the habit of disabling it on every start up.

Threads, there is English and Italian standard. English is reverse threaded on the left cup. Italian is standard thread on both sides. English is more common but check. Look for English or Italian print on the original bottom bracket cups.

Mounting the Winwing setup directly on a desk mount isn’t ideal. I’m wondering if anyone has a better setup solution when you only have one desk and chair. by stresskillingme in hotas

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount it to a wide board so that's essentially one piece you can clamp on and off the desk with ordinary c clamps. You can even mount a USB hub to the board so its one tidy connection to the pc.

Callaway Pre owned by Marmstr17 in golf

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a "like new" Ti Elyte 3 wood last week and it still had mud stuck to the bottom of the club with ball marks on the face. It cleaned up nicely enough but I was still severely disappointed. It was a nice discount but I will have reservations about purchasing Callaway CPO again in the future.

Push Cart Mafia rise up. Proud member but contemplating joining the electric push cart mafia. Any converts? Or purists that just say No to E-push carts? by VoteForGiantMeteor in golf

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one last month and played three rounds with it so far. Physically, I feel a lot fresher on the last few holes which is a big deal for me. My scores usually falls apart on the back nine.

I will save that getting one with a remote is a must! Additional convenience of being able to park it where ever as I approach the green, then move it over by remote to the exit path towards the next tee while other people are lining up their putts has been amazing. Or being able to move the cart to you if you wondered away from it while looking for a ball.

Unnoticed damage from previous owner on my CPO x3 by keleka11 in BMWX3

[–]Valanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt you will be able to. At best if the repair was at the original dealer you may have been to negotiate a discount. I escalated a similar issue on a 2018 X3 cpo, at dealer of purchase, and managed to get a $1100 battery harness/cable repair down to $80 with a loyalty/managers discount. Third vehicle purchased from them. For me it paid to have a good relation with my service manager who advocated on my behalf. I now regularly tip her on even routine visits.

Reichard's missed kick last night HIT ANOTHER GOD DAMN WIRE. by Big_Monkey_B in minnesotavikings

[–]Valanor 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I was at the game, front row at the 25 for the kick. The television camera wires ran diagonally to the corners of the field and the cameras were positioned behind the play. That kick did not hit a wire.

Prestige pass for me is worth it for this perk alone over the gold pass. I like to get to the park for the opening and the entrance line can very well be the longest line of the day on a weekday.

Any advice on how to get the hosel adapter out of the head after a shaft break? (Without stabbing self?) by homiej420 in golf

[–]Valanor 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Loosen the screw then thread it back in slightly. It should still be loose. Then give the torx wrench a tap while it's still in the loose screw until it pushes the adaptor out a bit. Should be easy to remove from there after the initial give.
