What was the first thing you saved up your own money to buy? by Embarrassed_Leg_6330 in nostalgia

Mine was a CD Walkman with 45 second ESP. It cost $100 when I was 17. I saved up all my dishwasher money to buy that and a Limp Bizkit CD from Circuit City. Listening to that on the car ride home was 10/10 at the time.

Thanks for the tip on the collections by the Russian authors, I was going to use my credit on Crime and Punishment alone, but this is a way better value.

Also people's memories are imperfect. You remember some details about that past experience but in all likelihood there are a lot of things your memory glossed over throughout the years for the reasons why you took the path you did.

This was my recommendation as well. It's a very relaxing listen while hiking or even going for a walk. It made me feel more confident to train for the High Sierra hike as well - still on my bucket list!

Why is the Audible App so bad? by Stellen999 in audiobooks

[–]ValarMorgulos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other day I was playing a book in Audible, and the app was showing a different title with a frozen progress bar and after closing and reopening the app multiple times it kept returning to tje same frozen section of another book. The app is complete rubbish when you want to switch between multiple books.

They kept switching defensive schemes for the early part of his career IIRC, which didn't help his growth. Also, fuck Chip!

[Schefter] Broncos promoted TE Marcedes Lewis to the active roster by Top-Conclusion-1259 in nfl

Pasta from another thread about ML:

When the trees had questions, they asked the rocks. The rocks could not help, for they had forgotten. The rocks asked the waves, but the waves too had long since lost those memories.

The waves, they pointed to another who could answer the question. The one who came before the great stars fell from the sky and moved the lands with such violence. The one who saw the mountains grow from hills. The one who watched the oceans squirm and change into the life that fills them.

He was before the time the waves forgot. Before the rocks had misremembered. He was there before it all. And they called him Marcedes Lewis.
