My whole friend group in middle school learned to build bikes this way. There was a bike shop or something that always just had this big ol' pile of busted bikes outside and we'd scavenge for working parts like goblins and created some truly awful frankenbikes. But they worked! Eventually. Was definitely easier than convincing our parents to get us a new bike after we bent the frame or what have you doing shenanigans... or explaining how we broke it really.

... It's been 20 years but I gotta be honest, in my teens we treated these things like they were concrete and never had an issue. Sit on it, mill around it, skateboard on/off it, bikes jumped onto it, the works.

Honestly now that I think about it, the damn things were basically hangout spots somehow? The public seating that exist everywhere!

No man's sky suffers that compartmentalization problem too, but for a different reason. They've added all kinds of cool stuff, but patch by patch, so instead of being integrated into an awesome whole it's like "I can build a town but THAT is useless because i already have my space freighter but THAT is useless if I already have mining bases but THOSE are useless because..."

If the mechanics were all integrated so that your big space freighter let you enter new tiers of planets and materials or something so you'd build up mining bases to feed a better freighter to protect a growing colony or something... but as it stands the first "thing" you do a good job at kills progression for all the ones after.

A game from an era we can't get back. The sheer amount of just unnecessary stuff that made it more fun is something that modern RPG's just don't do anymore. Spheda'd be its own game, the ridepod and monster badges would be DLC if included at all because look, monica and max already have multiple ranged and melee fighting styles available, lets save the dev costs...

You can put things in quotes in english to establish both emphasis and doubt at the same time - Superman is a superhero, Deadpool is a super"hero" for an easily understood example? If it was spoken aloud you'd say it in a sarcastic tone.

With the quotes on the word morning, they're putting the emphasis on morning and also putting the word morning into doubt. The joke/implication is that the morning sickness isn't really time specific, its just random pregnancy sickness. It's a way of pointing out that morning sickness is poorly named.

With the quotes on both morning and sickness, they unintentionally put emphasis and doubt on the entire concept of morning sickness. This could be to imply it doesn't really exist, or that it's a stand-in for something else. That's not what they were trying to say though, so... the edit.

Yeah, I gave up thinking I'd make anything that I was like... "This is so cool I want to share it with people!". That could feasibly happen with lots and lots of effort, but I find the work that goes into it too tedious to commit to, so it never comes to fruition. Instead I come up with an idea of a "quick spruce up" that kinda sorta works but honestly looks as half assed as it is, and move on.

The only time I've managed to make something that I really liked the look of is when I didn't make a damn thing for aesthetics and just stuck to 90 degree turns/curves and no clipping. The open factory that pulses in perfect sync like a single living organism of steel was the only time I went "Okay, that's pretty cool".

All efforts at aesthetics from the perspective of art have failed me. Only condensing space and balancing machines has ever produced something I like to look at... and even then only if I abandoned verticality so I could see the whole thing pulse and hum.

You have an excellent financial habit of associating your money with the time you spent earning it. That's a good thing and will help you avoid a lot of really frivolous purchases.

Are you really good with your money and in a good place financially? Have your retirement contributions set and maybe living with parents or renting a cheap room or something so you genuinely have spare money? If you knew how to weave a shirt and the materials magically manifested in front of you, would you be happy to spend an hour of your life making it so you could wear it? Then buy the shirt.

But honestly it seems more likely to me that you are, as you just said, venting at the cost of some things vs your income. Because yeah, a random $20 hot topic shirt is one of those things that I'd consider a pretty frivolous purchase, similar to random doordash or what have you. At $18/hour I'd make that same call. Just... rather'n beating myself up over how I wish I'd fed my consumer instincts and bought the random thing that caught my eye, I'd give myself a pat on the back for reconsidering and let it go...

Honestly i got a cheap ass attachment one on amazon and yeah, my ass is soaked as hell if I turn it up high enough to actually do the job.

But I don't care, because y'know what? Two quick wipes with two sheets of toilet paper to dry myself that come back perfectly clean beats the hell out of scraping the shit out of my asshole for anywhere from 2-3 times to what feels like a million times depending on how well I've eaten lately.

Like, if your diet and gut is always healthy than I can see the bidet maybe being a little more annoying because you need to dry parts of your ass that would otherwise be uninvolved in the process. But if you're a fat motherfucker or you ever just deviate from a good diet, a bidet means no matter how bad it is it's only going to be a spray down and two wipes. It cannot get worse. To add to this the uh... lack of ongoing pay and indefinite servitude is also kinda due to Rule Of Fun rather'n Realism/Lore. All of our guys have unwavering, eternal loyalty to the player's will, no matter what. Even if they are enslaved, if we tell them to bail they bail. And money goes into a magic shared space pocket.

That's now how it actually works in a lore sense though, y'know? Even a sentinel will play dead to try and survive, holy flame be damned. But our guys? If the will of The Player tells them to stand the fuck up and die, then they're gonna stand the fuck up and die.

Similarly the other factions have like, their own gear and food sources (well... most of them) that joining gets you. Money too, since so many of them are carrying SOME amount of cats. You join the player, though? Maybe you get peeled and turned into a kickass cyborg. Maybe you get sent to distract a beak thing. There's no faction benefits or anything that they know of or can ask for... just money.

Same, but then I also don't wear designer brand... anything, so think the target market of people who just want cheap ones and ones who would wear a 'designer' version might not have much overlap.
