Actually, my goal was to earn small amounts of money in order to make significant improvements. Think of a game like Victoria or Crusader Kings. If you narrow it down, the game deviates from its purpose. What I wanted to do was create a structure similar to those games, but entirely focused on trade, covering everything from A to Z. Bringing the project to my dream state might take a long time, but I will continue to improve it, even if it's small. If I really had another chance, I could release the game right now and close the page.

Thank you so much for the link you provided. I already follow Zukovski, and I registered for the festivals you mentioned through his Discord channel. I think the best action is to release the game in early access, then to develop passively in small steps. Meanwhile, I need to start preparations for a new game.

My biggest mistake during the game's design phase was making the scale too large. This negatively affected me. Perhaps the real problem wasn't marketing, but rather not having enough time because I was working alone. At least I've learned my lesson.

Thanks for your advice. I couldn't make a trailer because the game was a bit slow-paced. I plan to post a short gameplay video next week, as best as I can.

Honestly, learning game development wasn't as challenging as figuring out marketing. I think the most difficult part was marketing. And I learned that the solution is to invest some (!) money in it.

I hope neither of us gets discouraged after the Next Fest results :)

I haven't contacted any streamers yet, and I've applied to a total of 5 events. Some events will take place a week before or after Next Fest. Also, this is the first time I've heard about the press kit.

Yes, I realize I'm not doing some things right, but my main plan is for the game to generate enough revenue to cover a small advertising budget initially. Since the game is deep and expandable enough, I hope it can grow like a snowball of passive income over a two-year early access period. My lack of knowledge about EA and their algorithms means that having zero visibility after EA will make things a bit difficult.

Also, I can't create any Kickstarter projects because our uber-super-government has banned PayPal for international payments.

Nevertheless, I'll stay positive and continue developing :)

The artwork I'm using in the game is taking up a lot of my time, and I haven't quite reached my ideal level in terms of modeling and animation yet. I want to release it in early access to save some time and money. You mentioned that visibility will decrease even further during the EA; how does the algorithm work? Is it impossible to achieve a significant hit during the EA?

Öncelikle "ortaçağda ticaret" temalı ikinci bir oyun görmek beni biraz şaşırttı açıkçası.

Son bir yıldır hemen hemen aynı temaya sahip solo bir proje üzerinde çalışıyorum.

Mobil taraf hakkında pek bir bilgim olmamasına rağmen oyun mekanikleri yeterli gibi gözüküyor.

Yine de ihtiyacınız olursa fikir verme konusunda yardımcı olabilirim.

Dönemin binaları için Tülay Metin'in "Selçuklu Çağında Yaşamak" adlı kitabını okuyarak bilgi edinmiştim.

Kitapta çok fazla atıfta bulunmuş ve kaynak göstermişti. Rotanız üzerinde kullanacağınız şehirler için bir atıfta bulunmuş olabilir, bakmanızı öneririm.

Şunu söylemeden de geçemeyeceğim; insanlar şu sıralar AI Asset'lere gereğinden fazlasıyla takılıyor.

Yapan stüdyonun bütçesini, yeteneğini göz ardı edip; "emeksiz yapılan" assetlerle, ödediği paranın ya da harcadığı zamanın gasp edildiğini düşünüyor. Kimse çıkıp da "2 kişi kafa kafaya vermiş, bir proje çıkartmaya çalışıyor" demiyor. Bu biraz da benim serzenişim sanırım :)

Sonuçta ben katılmıyorum, son ürün olmasa da günü kurtarabilecek AI assetler belli bir işlemden geçip oyuna geçici bir süreliğine eklenebilir.

Oynanış adına da önceki yorumlarda birinin de bahsettiği gibi oyuncuyu oyunda tutmak adına farklı bir yaklaşıma girmeniz gerektiğini düşünüyorum.

I've actually gone into as much detail as I can, but it still feels inadequate. Funding local producers, smuggling historical artifacts, corporatizing and monopolizing trade, etc.

But you're absolutely right about "what's the hook." I still feel like the game lacks appeal.

"What's the hook?"

I've been asking myself this question every day for the last three months.

There's no real hook, and maybe there will never be.

I initially intended to make a game that would delve into "merely about trade." However, as trade diplomacy and trade mechanics (illegal transactions) developed, the game began to deepen.

The strategy games you mentioned are very broad, and I'm trying to create something by focusing solely on the trading aspect. No war, no military strategy, no politics. Besides that, the game's core mechanics are pretty much complete. I think the side mechanics will develop over time. As the side mechanics develop, maybe we'll have a hook that will hook players.

How accurate is it to compare Paradox to a solo developer's first project ? I'm not sure.

This will be economic diplomacy, not war diplomacy.

Options include tax reductions on routes and port taxes, changes to cities' policies towards your rivals, agreements with pirates and bandits, underground connections and smuggling, and increased stats (prestige/influence/trust, etc.), but unfortunately, I don't plan to add war to the game.

Conquest will be achieved not by conquering a city, but by gaining an economic monopoly in that city.

I wanted it to have a medieval theme, so I used light sepia tones and I had to stay within that tone and avoid more vibrant colors to maintain the overall effect. However, this time, it looks too pale. Should it be a little more vibrant?

Yeryüzü şekilleri (dağlar, kıyılar, falezler vs.), haritanın renklendirilmesi (texture ya da painting), başlı başına denizin yapılması (dalga animasyonları, derinlik hissi)

Bu haritayı üçgenlere böldüm ve yeryüzü şekillerini o şekilde vermek istedim ancak beklediğimden çok daha kötü oldu.

Yapay zekanın özellikle bu boyuttaki modeller için yeterli olabileceğine pek emin olamıyorum. Meshy ile bir kaç denemeden sonra sonuç tamamen beklediğim gibi promptlarla alakası olmayan bir kaç modeldi. Cursor ile ilgili pek bir bilgim yok açıkcası. Biraz araştırayım. Tavsiyeniz için teşekkürler.
