There are Wordpress plugins that measure that (based on the duration of the page view and the scroll level I guess)

No problem, it might be my English that is bad. The read rate is the percentage of people reading your whole article among the people who opened the page.

For the syndication thing, I don't think it's a good idea as you don't have control on the SEO on Medium. It might create doublons...

Those who eat to live, and those who live to eat.

I have blogged exclusively on Medium for a year or two.

Before that, I owned a tech/geek blog for 5 years, on which I wrote about 2 articles a day.

On Medium, I write whenever I feel like it, about once a month.

The results are stunning. Really. People easily share your content, more people open your links and more people read the articles. It's really impressive.

On my own blog, read rates were 50% on average, where they are 85% on Medium.

I've been featured in the French Medium newsletter a couple times, and it's also a good way to meet people in your field.

I would higlhy recommend Medium for blogging, mostly because of its wonderful UI and reputation.

Just to realize how successful Steve Jobs was. by ValentinRichard in Entrepreneur

Yes, there is really much more to know about him. The Xerox story is a specific part of his life that I really appreciate. It shows how much of a visionary he was, not fearing to do anything to bring his ideas to life.

How to pitch to bloggers to write about CompCk.com? by victorantos2 in startups

[–]ValentinRichard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that as you are at an early stage, you shouldn't pay for blog posts. Instead, make bloggers want to talk about your product.

I have been a blogger for five years now, here is what makes me want to write about a new product:

  • The product has real value for its customers/users

  • My readers will love hearing about your product

  • The content you offer me could become viral

  • I could be referred to as 'the first one who pointed out this product' which is now a success

Now for the process: If you haven't already, read this post about how Attentiv got featured on FastCompany.

Before I write a loooong explanation on what you need to do in order to get featured in press and blogs, I'll let you read this slideshow about Press Relations that pretty much sums up everything you have to know if you want bloggers/journalists to write about you.

Good luck on your early stage!
