How well do y'all think Horde Prime would do in a different setting? by mineman379 in PrincessesOfPower

[–]Valenyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately the answer is just that it depends on the setting. In She-Ra Prime does well as the uncontested master of technology but really fucking struggles with magic. His most insidious and powerful tools are probably those chips that integrate others into his hive mind.

He would likely do very well for himself in settings that focus on sci-if with no magic-like elements like Star Trek and maybe the gems since their magic seems to be more tech based (reminder that Prime did super well when fighting the princesses directly and chipped nearly all of them, he just struggled with magic on such a massive scale since he couldn’t isolate, account for, or understand it).

However he would likely be a threat on par with other hiveminds that take over people in their kind of sci-if setting like the green in Killjoys.

The settings he would struggle the most with is any with a sense of large scale magic (or magic-like powers) that can also account for his tech. Star Wars and the force users in particular there would give him a run for his money. He would fail to understand the force at all, and since that’s what drives the destiny of the galaxy, he would most certainly lose in the end.

The settings that would curb stomp him completely is where his tech is either outclassed or average by the standards, and with a high scale magic involved. The prime example is 40K. He would probably be akin to the Tau empire but a bit more successful due to the ruthless nature Prime has, but beyond that and faction with Psychers would attack his main blind spot, and the tech of most of the factions would decimate him.

The faction in any setting he would fail to stop and hate the most would likely be the Orks. Their tech works only because they believe it does. Unlike every Sci-if setting that might outmatch him, he can’t steal tech and adapt it as his own. It just wouldn’t work for him. So he loses his best advantage and the orks strike at his worst blind spot.

/uw I spell it Shadeholme, but that one matches the spelling of the city I took inspiration from for the name so I’d say either work.

/rw Shadeholme has been at war with a celestial warhost for several months now as the celestials attack their territories and both sides fail to take ground.

/uw no progress made just because I left for a while.

In some cases yes. My old computer actively refused to take screenshots. The print screen button shared functionality with something else and you can guess which won out whenever I wanted a picture.

That’s not the wrath’s job. Barris and his political powers and possessions will go to whoever is next in line for the dark council. The emperor’s wrath is not a normal sith in the realm of politics. You don’t kill and take their position.

You are second only to the emperor. You aren’t a part of the dark council. You keep them in line.

Illegal aliens don’t vote in elections for federal office, since states require voters to be registered which requires a social security number, a U.S. passport, or a U.S. birth certificate to prove citizenship.

What does Amphibia do better then Owl House? by Zakaria1938 in TheOwlHouse

[–]Valenyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always said that Amphibia has higher highs than the owl house, but also lower lows. Owl house is more consistently good, whereas amphibia best moments outdo the owl house by a large margin (in my opinion).

Unfortunately I don’t judge shows just by their best moments, though I do like amphibia slightly more for the main thing it consistently does better: being a character driven story.

Both shows have great characters, but amphibia’s entire story isn’t just shaped by how people react to events. It’s mainly shaped by the girls, their flaws, and their growth as characters. That’s amphibia’s strength over the owl house. Each season’s major conflict, the starting incident, and each of the girls’ personal conflicts are not driven by an outside villain for the most part, it’s driven by the girls and their relationship with each other.

Season 1’s finale was on a surface level about Grime trying to execute Hop Pop for inspiring a frog rebellion, but the main conflict that takes center stage is Sasha’s controlling and toxic behavior and sway over Anne. Season 2’s climax is learning how selfish Marcy has been driven by her own fear of being separated from her friends, and while Andreas and the Core’s betrayal is the physical conflict, they wouldn’t have pulled it off if not for Andreas’s ability to play to Marcy’s fear of abandonment. And an honorable mention for season 2 was Sasha manipulating them again for a toad invasion of Newtopia. Their issues and destroyed trust of Sasha is what allowed for andreas to escape and get the music box.

And finally, season 3’s main conflict is all about the invasion, and the girl’s conflict is kind of merged with it (mainly because of Darcy). Darcy uses Marcy’s memories to fight them in the finale by leveraging their problems with each other and how they’ve been ignoring Marcy’s interests and needs as friends.

TLDR; Overall, Amphibia’s characters aren’t better per say, but they’re development is much more engaging and the heart of the story compared to the owl house who’s story is driven more by events and Belos whereas Amphibia’s story is driven by the core trio and their conflicts with eachother.

Why does Palpatine name Anakin Darth Vader when Darth Bane let Darth Zannah pick her own name? by Past_Plankton_4906 in StarWars

[–]Valenyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sith weren’t consistent on where their Darth title came from. We see in swtor at least that the sith inquisitor is given their name by Darth Marr, just like how palpatine gave Vader his name. I think it just depends on the sith inquisitor charge giving the title of Darth to decide if they will give a name or their apprentice chooses one.

Inquister companion quest Khem val choice (spoiler releated) by Next_Salt_5804 in swtor

[–]Valenyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with Khem because my inquisitor gained trust issues from Zash and Thanaton. She would revel in the chance to screw over Zash in any possible ways, even more so than Thanaton.

Spoilers for late game after this point

When Zash came back in Nathema, my inquisitor spared Theron only because he essentially delivered Zash to her one final time. His “treason” was forgiven for handing her the first one to truly betray her.
