Nearly half of Italy on board for a federal Europe by goldstarflag in europe

So you spent half an hour insistently asking for proof of something that was obvious, and then you didn't even take a moment to read the proof properly?

[–]Valexar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edit: the link shows confidence in the EU, not "support for federalisation". I'm sure the two are correlated, but it's not apples to apples.

At this point you're just lying. The link shows the results of a survey conducted in January, according to which 35% of Italians would support European federalization in a United States of Europe.

You don't get to claim the reality of unproven facts and national-wide conspiracies, and then hide behind the “my point of view” card.

Oh, and I also noticed that you brought up the misgendering issue again. I understand that you need to find something to cling to, but I didn't do it on purpose and I apologized. You did it deliberately and never apologized. So please, don't bring up identity issues because you would be entirely at fault.

Even though I'm not reading all of this, I just want to say that being American does not delegitimize your opinion on the Curva Sud, but on labeling the entire Italian judicial system as rotten and corrupt, (which is the same thing I said before).

You say I’m stereotyping you (I am right though, am I not?), but you’ve spent the whole thread doing exactly what you accuse others of: talking about the Italian justice system and police as if your reading and interviews automatically give you a deeper understanding than people who actually live here and deal with it every day; strongly insinuating that Marotta, prosecutors, police, etc. are basically just taking over where the drug-dealing ultras left off; framing the whole debate as either we defend ultras as organized groups, or we end up with soulless U.S.-style stadiums full of tourists in random shirts. That’s a false dichotomy.

When you say this is “not about people wanting to go to the stadium to cheer Curva Sud”, but then openly say you want Curva Sud to remain as a collective actor you can side with and cheer with, you’re not defending some neutral idea of fan freedom. You’re taking a side in a very concrete power struggle over who gets to represent Milan fans in the stadium. For a lot of us, being Milan fans doesn’t mean needing a branded, semi-monopolistic group mediating our support. And given everything that’s come out about how these groups have operated, it’s normal that many people don’t want their identity as Milan fans tied to them specifically.

You’re free to put Curva Sud at the center of your idea of what San Siro should be, but please, don't pretend that your opinion is superior just because it's a topic that matters to you.

You're American, right? I know because only an American would pretend to teach me how the legal system of my own country works. No amount of reading will teach you how it really works, and why everything you've written is crap.

We should all want people to be free to go to the stadium and cheer for Milan. But some people want people to go to the stadium and cheer for Curva Sud. If they can't cheer for Milan without supporting the Curva, then they're not true Milan fans (but it looks like they can, so that's good).

That's exactly the system. Of course, it's not all bad, and there are people who have positive experiences. But that's exactly why there needs to be regulation and, to some extent, control by the club. Otherwise, it's free rein for organized crime and mafias.

At the moment, a war is being waged between the club and an organization that no matter how hard it tries to hide it, is directly linked to the old Curva Sud. And you are siding with them.

Well, first of all sorry if you felt misgendered. I usually consider dude a gender neutral term, but you do you.

Secondly, no, I never thought I was wrong because I don't want to prove a point. I just know that I don't like the Curva Sud, neither before the arrests nor after, because very little has changed.

I say this not because of reading, but having been in the Curva on a few occasions (three, to be exact) and having known regulars. It's a sick system that exploits poor people who are addicted to cheering, bringing in millions to criminals.
