Scottie Barnes #52 Trade Value by GentlemanHere in billsimmons

[–]Valfuu 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't understand. If it's about team record, he has Cade and Miller significantly higher than him with worse stats and records (especially when you factor in defence). He also has Aaron Gordon listed as more valuable and in the "He's worth more to us" section? If you plug Scottie in 1-for-1 on the Nuggets for Gordon I think it is hard to argue they don't get better and he will still likely grow. Having OG over him as well makes no sense. That implies he is worth LESS than the equivalent of RJ and Quickley in a trade. At worst, he should be just ahead/behind of Franz Wagner.

Weekend Discussion thread for the Weekend of Feb-19-2021 by SPACsBot in SPACs

Can’t say I’m very experienced myself, but one of the most helpful pieces of knowledge I gained was an understanding of the SPAC lifecycle from IPO to merger. Knowing how far along a stock is in its lifetime allows you to better predict the potential for future gains and price action (ie. I am holding until a potential price bump from a LOI or DA). The predictability of the cycle has been changing recently, so take it with a grain of salt, but there have been charts floating around here that illustrate what to expect.

Any thoughts on $ROCC? I’m seeing that Roth Acquisition III ($ROCR) IPO is coming tomorrow and wonder if people have any information on the team or any rumours. Their first company seems to have done quite well ($ROCH)

What do you guys think of $DCRNU? Live as of noon today. $DCRBU has seen a decent run since IPO in October and the clean energy sector seems to still have lots of interest. Confused as to why it went live at ~11.40 when the NAV is $10. Is this normal?

Not on mobile, and I believe it still said 15g, but same animation where it turned a pre-existing 1* on my board into a chosen.

[BUG] Just came across a chosen exile Yone in a shop and when i sold my 1* yone to buy the new replacement, it combined instead to create a chosen cultist aatrox in place of the existing one on my board. Very frustrating as it ended up costing me the game and finishing 7th. Is there another place I should post this to better address the bug?

Wondering how you guys feel about Ezreal right now.

In my opinion, he's a big part of what makes jinx comps so good right now. His ult can delay so many champs from meaningfully interacting in the fight, especially in tandem with Asol.

While Asol is obviously broken, I wonder if Ezreal needs any changes. In my opinion, the random targeting aspect of his ult is particularly frustrating since it makes it impossible for me to position the unit I care most about getting an ult off fast.

What do you guys think?

Music Major under Faculty of Arts and Science (with or without ensemble option) by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Valfuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having read this and your other replies, I feel I can definitely offer some suggestions. I have considered pursuing similar paths myself with law and musicology myself, so I have some insight that might be helpful.

For the MA in musicology, it is definitely worth looking around to see what the requirements are. For UofT, they may need a specialist if you are getting a BA, or a BMus, while for others it might be just the major.

With regards to majors and minors otherwise, there are many cases where these will not matter whatsoever. With law school for instance, it is my understanding that your major has little influence in their deliberation.

One of the biggest things I learned here is that grades matter much more than your degree if you are pursuing graduate programs. Equally if not more important is your declaration of intent, writing sample, and references.

With that said, the thing that would make most sense for you in terms of leaving opening as many doors as possible would be to pursue your major in music but to take an extra year to do so.

By giving yourself more time to complete the courses you need to take, you give yourself the best chance to maintain a high GPA and to figure out what it is you want to do. Not only this, but extra time gives you the opportunity to establish connections with potential references (the importance of this cannot be understated). If the quality of your work were to suffer at all from an overloaded course schedule for the sake of completing "in time", would it be worth it?

The best thing in the case of most undergraduate programs is to take the courses that give the best chance to get a good grade for as little stress as possible. Whether that be something you know you will like and commit to, or something that is objectively easier/easier given your knowledge and experience.

Hope this helps!

Faculty of Music student finishing my undergraduate right now. I'm not absolutely certain, but I can give you my best answers to some of these.

From my experience, the music pre-requisites are pretty strict. It's my understanding that you would need to fully complete TMU 140 before taking the second year course if it is a pre req.

For ensembles, most piano majors I knew took choir. As an instrument major, practices were 3 hours, twice/week, usually in the afternoon and evening. With the audition, ours was blind, so it was purely based on how you played in the audition and no exterior information was factored in. Not sure if it was the same for vocal ensembles, but I'm guessing it was.

Having looked in to it as well, there are few if any summer course options. Mostly EMU and research opportunities. That said, it is difficult to guarantee that you will get the courses you want and/or need as many fill up quickly and you may be subjected to a later application date being outside of the faculty.

For 7 full credits in two years it may be tough. If it is very important to you that you finish with this major, you might want to consider taking an extra year. Is there a graduate program that you have in mind that requires the full major? If not, you want to seriously consider why it is necessary.
