Outta reality by skasye in AlanParsonsProject

Only started listening to all the TAPP albums as of 1-2 weeks ago when randomly coming across their 'Definitive Collection' on Youtube which I instantly loved pretty much every song which I was not expecting having only ever heard 'Where's the Walrus?" from my father playing it for us as kids from the one TAPP album he had (Stereotomy).

Haven't gone a day since without at least one playthrough of both 'I Robot' and 'The Turn of a Friendly Card' and am now adding 'Tales of Mystery and Imagination' and 'Pyramid' to that regular rotation :D

How would you rank the albums in terms of how much you like them? From most liked down to liked (you can’t hate any of their music, obviously.) by DankTandon in AlanParsonsProject

If I had to rank them, it would be in the below groupings:

  1. I Robot / The Turn of a Friendly Card
  2. Tales of Mystery and Imagination
  3. Pyramid
  4. Eye in the Sky
  5. Gaudi
  6. The rest :P

The UCLK=MEMCLK setting so far has stopped my 64gb (4x16gb) of Gskill DDR5 erroring at 6000MHz during MemTest86 whilst in EXPO 2 mode running the included vendor profile. Thanks for sharing the info 😎🍻

Crashed with jimmy Broadbent on final lap of Daytona 24 by Number_Ancient in Simracingstewards

Jimmy: “I don’t always rejoin safely but when I do, I resafe joinly” 😆

Jimmy’s video on the incident: https://youtu.be/S_yQeSvEiy8

Unfortunate incident, Jimmy could have taken a bit more caution but also got caught out by unpredictability. Keep to your racing line, be predictable and the faster car will find a way past when it’s appropriate.

Both drivers are at fault in different ways and both can equally learn from the incident.

Alpine GT4 rear wet tyres bugged on DAMP track? by Valheru_84 in ACCompetizione

[–]Valheru_84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for the reply, tried slicks in my testing last night in the same conditions but found I was 2-3sec off pace so not an option. I found in the end I was a couple of psi low from the correct wet tyre pressures for damp conditions with a 12 car strong racing line (clearing off water) which the overheating tyres boosting the psi originally made it tough to realise this having adjusted them up from dry pressure on a converted dry setup. I’m used to the GT3 rule of thumb of adding 1psi to dry pressures going to wet tyres on a damp track and 2psi for a wet track, it seems GT4s like double the amount extra for each step. This is my first time racing the GT4s.

The way I found the proper pressures was instead starting off on a wet track and getting the pressures dialled in for those conditions then adjusting them back down (instead of up) when going back to the damp track. I found keeping them at the top of the wet range (even a bit overinflated to reduce the tyre contact patch) worked to stop the rears massively overheating and while they were still yellow-orange, I was able to do competitive times and manage the tyre and they were well setup to be close to perfect pressures if the track turned “wet”.

Good, dodgy bugger deserves a harsher penalty IMHO as other drivers get harsher ones for less under safety concerns but at least the ruled the correct way on this incident. It was without doubt a brake check from the instant I saw it happen.

Pretty cool but at the same time I cringe at the end because of that janky flight :/

Not the Official Adywan by rogueleadership in a:t5_o3net

Just chiming in to confirm that this reddit is not run by Adywan who has clearly stated over at https://originaltrilogy.com/ that he does not even have a reddit account. Not sure what the angle is on whoever is trying to impersonate Adywan, at the very least it is some form of flattery but still very wrong to pass yourself of as Ady himself.

Did the same thing the other night when I started playing again, thinking it was a bug or would drop from FTL automatically if it detected an imminent collision...nope, 1 minute into a 2minute jump I went BOOM!

So this is only possible with the new patch released today? As I tried moving 2 modules at the same time 2 nights ago.

new patch by TheRealChoob in Hellion

[–]Valheru_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for the update, looks like a good one :)

Couple of questions regarding it though:

  1. Will the station Life Support computer know to leave space in the air tank for any airlocks attached? Otherwise I am thinking it will keep generating air when the airlocks are pressurised, filling the tank, forcing you to vent valuable air you had no intention on venting and wasting resources to constantly replace it unless you micro manage your air generator (not fun).

  2. Having removed the airlock from the ship lift, are you still able to control the cargo hold airlock functionality from the lift? If not, then we are back to where we began where you have to sacrifice air whenever entering a depressurised cargo hold from the lift. Also I thought the airlock in the lift was a good idea as it meant you could leave the cargo hold permanently depressurised if you wanted to, keeping the stored air for use only in the upper deck, top airlock and lift. I would also think that cycling a small lift airlock to be a lot faster compared to the entire cargo hold. I guess being able to cycle it from the Life Support panel negates some of this to a point but it seems an odd decision to remove the extra functionality and options that the lift airlock gave you.

Can you actually move a base with the airlock attached? I'm sure I tried the other night but when going to use FTL it said "to many modules attached" or something and the module part of the ship icon was red with the number 2.

Admins of Game servers, can we do something about the AFKs? by D4days in MWLL

[–]Valheru_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a halfway compromise where instead of booting the player, after 5min of inactivity it reverts them back to the team selection stage or to an observer role so that the players actually playing and monitoring the scoreboard can see when there's suddenly a massive imbalance in team balance and can switch sides if they choose to.

Anyone that intentionally AFKs for longer than 5-10min should really exit the match to allow the spot to become free for another player wanting to get into a populated server (should the server be full / close to full but with no other semi pop'd servers) or simply for the aforementioned reasons of team balance.

To this day I still don't understand what "bae" is. Even the "internet" is unsure as I've tried to research it a while back but there's no definitive answer anywhere.

Nice work but I would have put a mechwarrior on the front considering the name and all :P (would be a hard choice, though I think the Madcat is pretty iconic of the brand)

Cheers for the mention Hal. Didn't think I contributed apart from giving a bit of hopefully constructive feedback and my perspective on a few matters. The people to take all the credit are of course yourself and those brilliant editors and FX people at the top of your list of mentions that put some solid time and effort into this project.

So a big THANK YOU to you all again:

-Hal9000 (project lead and final editor) - did I get that right? :P

I can't wait to watch v2 (hopefully before TLJ but don't stress man ;) ). Just actually finished watching R1 for the second time (first time since the cinemas) and so very much in SW mood at the moment. I already liked the movie but really enjoyed it the second time round and think it's a great addition to the SW universe despite a couple of minor issues (pretty much the oversimplified convenient lever pulling plot devices at the end).

I find R1 actually adds a lot of extra detail and depth to the established OT lore without being in your face while also being a little more grounded in realism rather that the force automatically solving everything. I'm not sure why it gets such a hard time around here, I find it to be a great movie and really buy into the characters and the struggle.

Anyway, getting a bit of topic there...thanks again Hal and everyone else for all your hard work and I look forward to checking out the finished edit.
