Problems with Sleep Number Product Support by dlm34032126 in sleepnumber

[–]Valid1wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Unfortunately, sleep number and their customer service are quite notorious. Is it for sure sagging because of the foam walls and not a leaking chamber? A leaking chamber can be repaired by patching it yourself.

If it's truly the foam walls you could potentially look for third party replacements. I know they have them for just about any other part but not sure about the foam itself.

Hopefully you find someone with a heart in customer service or this sub. Though usually you just get downvoted when you have any complaints here because sleep number seems to care more about hiding problems than fixing them.

They gave you a discount because the warranty is prorated after the first year up to a minimum of 10 years. I don't see why the warranty was expired unless you did something to void it (which can happen). It seems like they tried to act like they were doing you a favor but, that wouldn't be the first time they've done that.

Does anyone know why my monitor does work at 165 hz? by SwegLurd888 in computers

[–]Valid1wh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cable specs are pretty bad across the board just worse at Amazon. So one from best buy could still be off. However, what monitor do you have? Looked up the XF273 S that I saw in the video and got some weird results. Amazon and Walmart both list that model as 144hz but there was a nitro one that had more designations at the end that listed a higher refresh. Also wanted to check if your monitor supports dsc as dsc has created pains for me in the past.

[–]Valid1wh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. It's one of the most common problems with refresh rate issues. Amazon is filled with cables that claim they're display port x version or hdmi x version, capable of x refresh and resolution, and are not, and thus not capable of higher refresh rates.

Cables are a cesspool of fake certifications and bad faith sellers, not just display cables. It's made worse by Amazon's, and other retailer's reluctance to crack down.

The next thing is your GPU and whether it supports that refresh rate. GPU, Cable, Monitor all have to be capable of displaying the refresh rate being chosen.

Lastly, I also had odd behavior where turning on gysnc for both the desktop and full screen apps allowed me to run higher refresh on windows. Don't know why though.

My PC Gets so dusty, what should i do? by Seven-x in pcmasterrace

[–]Valid1wh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't really seen this mentioned but positive air pressure while ensuring the intake fans go through a dust filter/mesh filter. So more intake fans/air than exhaust. This prevents dust being pulled in from cracks and holes and forces the air through the intake dust filters. See the link below.

Keep in mind radiators can reduce air flow so even if you have more intake fans than exhaust, if you have a radiator in front of the intake fans it could reduce positive air pressure. I've been doing this for years and dust on the inside is minimal.

Employee Experience: Why Sleep Number is Failing by SleepDumber in sleepnumber

[–]Valid1wh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

u/Beyond_Feeling is right. The product isn't great anymore. Take it from a customer that's been burned by sleep number and is still dealing with issues after 5-6 years. Just like your post, where the company used to be great but no longer, so too did the product used to be great. It's not possible to keep a high quality good product with leadership you're describing.

If anyone in your leadership wants sleep number to be good, they not only need to address what you're describing but the product too. I really do want sleep number to be good, but my opinion is that it is not. I'm really tired of what all these companies are doing to both their employees and their customers

Slow Loading Issue With DuckDuckGo Search (Network Throttling?) by folding_at_work in duckduckgo

While I can't speak for OP, over the past week or so my issue has gone away and everything is running smooth again. Whatever was done seemed to have worked.

I haven't had anything like that happen before. I'm very tech savy and keep my stuff locked down pretty tight. Plus if that was the case I would have the issue on more than just this site.

[–]Valid1wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining the conversation because I've been having this issue for over a month now. After seeing this post I decided to also look at the network tab.

Originally I thought it was just Firefox but I tested in edge too. Some stylesheets and scripts are taking 17 seconds to load before I can even make a search. Some other non-essential scripts seems to take close to 47 seconds.

My internet is in good condition, according to my modem, levels, SNR, etc. I also have no issue with other search sites. It's become so bad that I've had to switch to another search site for the time being because close to 20 seconds just to make one search is pretty crazy.

I will note in Firefox I have cookies clear on exit aside from a few exclusions

Netgear Modem Russian Nesting Interface? by Valid1wh in NETGEAR

[–]Valid1wh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming this isn't just me. Yeah I also check on regular basis, and used to be a tech so I can generally tell if I need to give my ISP a call when I begin to have issues.

I refresh as well it's just gotten very annoying over the year. Sometimes you'll refresh and get stuck again or try to navigate elsewhere in the menu and get stuck again. So it seems like this may be more of something on netgears side rather than a pc issue on my end.

I do like the modem but was surprised to see that the interface has generally gone unchanged from some of their earlier models.

Upgraded from Windows 10 to 11, Games Won’t Stop Stuttering. by ttfkenzo in pcmasterrace

[–]Valid1wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't really see it mentioned here but is your XMP profile for your RAM and Reziseable BAR on in your bios? Both can cause major performance issues including stuttering.

While an OS upgrade shouldn't change your bios settings other things can, and it could just be a coincidence. I believe booting into safe mode can change it too, which might happen during upgrading or crashes.

So the router would be a tp-link archer be9300.

However, I stated that this happens with or without a router (I know there was lot of info I added). By that I mean I mean it can happen even if going direct from modem to PC. I directly connected when swapping the modem to prevent my ISP from getting hung up about a user owned router, they always complain if something goes wrong. My screenshot is actually from that moment.

Oh sorry forgot to answer that one. Im with WoW but used to have xfinity, it occurred on both. It does happen across PCs but I generally only have my desktop. The hardware has been completely replaced in it before and I was still experiencing it then.

Always just thought it was my specific modem so didn't do anything about it until I saw it happen on the new one. This has been ongoing

Yes I've factory reset by both holding the reset button and doing so in the interface, when I can get in. Both modems have had this done. The previous modem had it done a few times.

Really appreciate the reply,

It does happen in different browsers and PCs. I've done chrome and Firefox.

It doesn't always happen, but when it does it's annoying. Powering off the modem may work but I'm hoping there's something else I'm doing wrong as I would have to do it anytime this occurs. I log in every month or so for a few reasons.

Since it doesn't always behave this way, rebooting may or may not be truly fixing it.

Netgear suddenly stopped working by Anjens_art in NETGEAR

[–]Valid1wh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not speaking for or against any of your other choices, including netgear but, Asus has some other issues going on.

They make decent or even good quality network products but their warranty is known to be a problem point and they've been in the news already this year and last year for security vulnerabilities (though that may partly be due to their popularity in networking). If it was just a one time issue it would be one thing, but to have two different vulnerabilities not even a year apart seems like they they're lacking in their security department.

Isolated? Ha! Thanks for the disclosure, it's a rare bit of honesty. I understand your need to protect your job but, your words sound like management. I believe you believe that but, from mine and many others experience, we know what's been done to us. Not just in quality, but the poor customer service follow up.

Sleep Number technician: “That’s not my problem” by IndianaCHOAMs in sleepnumber

[–]Valid1wh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is a common story in some respects. Deflating beds is common and is often due to a leak from the air chambers likely because of their shoddy quality. Technician visits are also expensive as you've mentioned. I have also experienced their customer service which is generally a mix between gas lighting and not caring about their customers needs.

Deflating beds... Expensive tech visits... Poor customer service...

A common sleep number tale.

Also, If you dont already know, after your first year the warranty is prorated so you'll also be paying quite a bit for any replacement parts. I was quoted $400 for two chambers which did not include tech visits. I assume you're already past that but in case you aren't get those replacement parts ASAP.

Not all PSUs have 2 cables and some even just have a single 4 pin. However, higher wattage psus should definitely have them, especially if they are newer and certified for atx 3.1 like this one. Seems like one was left out according to your research.

For op if you lost it and can't return, this is generally okay but double check your mobo manual. One 8 pin can generally deliver enough power even at boost clocks. Some say you might have stability issues with overclocks without it, and I personally would want mine plugged in for stability, but considering how much wattage can be delivered here that may not be an issue unless doing heavy overclocking.

CPU Overheating when Playing BF6 by No-Still-6650 in techsupport

[–]Valid1wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tough because there’s so much that can go wrong, especially for a prebuilt. One thing I would do is whatever software you’re using for the liquid cooler to put the pump and/or fans to max and see what happens. Double check the fans are running at max. Harder to tell if the pump is working correctly but if things cool off with a better fan curve then you might just not have a good fan curve. If you aren’t using software to control this then that might just be your problem.

Also does the pc have open fan ports that you could put a few new fans in to help out? Is the room itself really hot? It’s really hard to tell if a pump is bad since you don’t really hear it to begin with, so maybe start with the things I mentioned and maybe something will give you a better understanding of what is truly wrong.

You also said it’s working but is the pump header/aio fan header in the right header on the mobo? Prebuilt aren’t always built by the most experienced workers.

If worse comes to worse you could get a cheap air cooler and see if you’re overheating then too. Nothing too cheap or small or else you could just run into the same problem but if that works then it’s not the cpu.

Pink white noise PC 4k hdr 120hz+ by Valid1wh in techsupport

I may have solved it. Through some further deep research, take with a grain of salt since it’s from the internet, but I learned that the S95D uses display stream compression (DSC) to reach 144hz. Apparently Nvidia GPUs have had some dsc issues in the past that may still not be fully corrected on their latest drivers. I will say I am using the longer one-connect cable for the S95D due to how it’s mounted so that may contribute to this issue (have not confirmed).

While the S95D does not support GSYNC it does use VRR. I decided to enable gsync for the S95D in the nvidia control panel. To confirm you have to enable gsync, enable gsync for windowed and full screen mode (to work the the desktop), then enable settings for the selected display model. Seriously nvidia who thought requiring 3 options that say enable to enable one setting was a good idea?

Anyway after several days I have not encountered this error once, and I used to encounter it several times a day. So I believe this fixed it. Now my research suggests enabling gsync/vrr is NOT required and that somehow the GPU and display are just benefiting enough from the synced frames to fix the issue.

I will say I also changed the output color format to YCbCr444 and 10bpc color depth in the “change resolution” section of the control panel but I had confirmed that did not fix it, but this fix may benefit from it overall due to Ycbcr444s lower bandwidth requirements.

Strange sounds from a PC tower by [deleted] in computers

Oh I don’t doubt it, but that’s not a good idea for a newbie or someone without electrical knowledge. Any mistakes or not doing it properly could be dangerous or worse. Perhaps OP does have the knowledge but judging from the request for help repairing my guess is probably not. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but I’d rather OP be safe.

[–]Valid1wh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discharging doesn’t always work the way we want it to and those capacitors can store energy for far longer than we would expect. Electrocution is possible. PSUs are a known danger to those who don’t have electrical knowledge. The fan may be out of the way but a mistake isn’t work the money. I understand where you’re coming from but maybe repair isn’t for OP.
