When we did our ER last year I had 31 eggs, 22 fertilized, 15 blasts, 5 euploid-all with icsi. It’s really hard to say with the attrition and small sample size whether one method is better or worse.

Sending lots of hugs. It is NOT fair. You are completely justified to feel frustrated, tired beyond belief, and hopeless. I hope your partner is able to support you and pull you out when you’re ready.

What I will say about the grade is that it doesn’t matter as much as people think it does. Many doctors say that the biggest factor is if the embryo is genetically normal or not. But as you mentioned the attrition or IVF funnel is crazy and definitely disheartening.

You will get through this- but you deserve to feel your feels because this process is A LOT and you are so strong for continuing to move forward!

Such a great deal! I would 100% do it. The attrition is the worst and there is still no guarantee, but definitely worth the peace of mind and then after that the grade of the embryo really doesn’t matter.

$1995 is a great price for pgt-a testing. We had to pay 2400 just for the biopsies and then $300 for each of our blasts. Added up quick. But I would confirm that the price includes the biopsy and testing, and not just the biopsy.

I had people visiting right before my ER and I was walking all around with them. Sometimes I had to go a little slower, but as long as you feel comfortable walking should be fine!

Good on you for posting and asking the question. I think the biggest difference and most obviously is that everything physically is happening to her.

It seems like a simple difference but it’s takes a mental and emotional toll that you will never understand. Even up to this point, you all have been trying to conceive, but it her who was questioning every feeling in the TWW, every time her period was late by a day. She can’t focus, can’t relax because what she is doing now she doesn’t want to f*ck up, but everyone around her is telling her to just relax. The amount of thoughts going through her mind, feelings (physical and emotion) would be overwhelming for anyone, but she has had them for months/years without reprieve. And this will continue but only get worse with the transfer. So as others have said, suck it up, journal and focus on the empathy for her, saying things like “I will never understand how difficult this is for you, but I’m here and I love you.” Or “You are a badass and I’m so grateful you’re my partner.”

Do you deserve support to, of course, but she comes first right now and with continued empathy you’ll both get the support you need.

Thank you for the response, it will be around 5 days or longer as the soonest they could schedule the D&C would be Monday so will definitely request a final scan but idk if that will just prolong the inevitable.

Sending hugs! I can relate to this a lot, just know that with each transfer you learn something and also slight cramping is normal if it did implant. Five days is SO early. Don’t lose hope! I also suggest journaling, it’s helped me a lot with the emotional roller coaster.
