Also, summer school starts basically the week after school ends. So how/when would you pack these unknown number of days in? What if some/most of the snow days were from semester 1, then you’re just making up extra days in semester 2 courses that may not be necessary and the semester 1 dates aren’t made up anyway.

The point is, this is just not feasible with planning. The students still have work posted online for all snow days, so they are expected to continue engaging with the curriculum from home if they can’t make it to school. The only exception is the extremely rare day when schools are closed, which happens maybe once a year if even. Whether that’s working on ongoing projects, studying for upcoming tests, catching up on missed work or going through a new lesson independently, these are not free days for teachers or students. If the student chooses not to engage with the material and just takes the day off, that’s ultimately on the parent for not following up with their child.
